The detained subjects include: Nguyen Thi Van (born in 1990), Nguyen Van Cuong (born in 1985, both from Phu Tho), Bui Van Tuan (born in 1984, residing in Dong Nai), Tran Van Tam (born in 1986, residing in Dak Lak), Pham Ngoc Huy (born in 1996, Can Tho City) and Pham Song Dien (born in 1999, residing in Di An City).

According to the police: Due to a dispute with Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy (born in 1979) about borrowing money and transferring the restaurant. At around 5:00 p.m. on November 3, Van's group came to cause trouble ateateryin Nhi Dong 2 neighborhood, Di An ward (Di An city) owned by Ms. Thuy. Here, Van's group threatened customers eating at the restaurant, forcing them to go outside, and at the same time they used a pre-prepared lock to lock the restaurant door, not allowing customers to enter.
Upon receiving the news, Di An City Police rushed to the scene and asked Van's group to open the door, but the subjects still did not comply with the order. Afterwards, Van's group argued loudly, causing traffic obstruction on the road where the incident occurred. At 6:30 p.m. the same day, the subjects agreed to return to the police headquarters for questioning.
Di An City Police added that in this case, police officers had repeatedly explained to Van's group that the incident between Van's group and Thuy was only a civil dispute. The parties should file a lawsuit in the people's court to resolve it according to the law. However, Van's group had come to disturb the order at Thuy's restaurant five times.
