Ukraine seizes 44 Russian passenger planes bound for Crimea
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the country has detained 44 Russian passenger planes flying to Crimea since Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula. However, the names of the Russian airlines were not disclosed.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that it was a legal action by Ukraine, taken within the framework of the provisions "on foreign airlines violating the rules of international flights and illegally transporting people across the border of Ukraine".
According to the SBU, this step "will help limit flights by airlines, including to European countries." Currently, Ukraine also imposes this method on 37 Russian airlines when operating regular flights to the Crimean peninsula.
Previously, the Crimean Prosecutor's Office also announced that similar arrests were applied to 109 aircraft of Russian airlines when performing regular passenger flights to Crimea./.
