Boss and servant go to jail together for delivering drugs

On November 23, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of Nguyen Nhu Long (born in 1963, residing in Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district) and Hoang Nghia Thuan (born in 1984, residing in Dong Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town) for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
According to investigation documents, around March 2020, Thuan came to live and work for Long to usedrugOn May 27, 2020, Long agreed to buy 1 heroin cake and 3 packages of opium for a woman named Dan (unknown background and specific address) to resell to ship workers. After that, Long called a Mong man named Ho, ordering 1 heroin cake for 80 million VND and 3 packages of opium for 6 million VND.

On the afternoon of May 29, Ho brought drugs to hide under a jackfruit tree in front of Long's house and then informed Long. Long called Dan to come to his house to pay Ho. After receiving the drugs, Dan hired Long to take the drugs to Quynh Luu district and would pay 7 million VND. Long agreed, so that night he invited Thuan to go with him. After that, Long put the drugs in his jacket pocket and drove the car ahead while Thuan followed on a motorbike. When arriving at the Chieu market area, Quynh Hop town, Long left the car and took Thuan's motorbike to go down to Tuan intersection, Quynh Chau commune (Quynh Luu district), turned into the railway crossing to deliver the drugs to Dan.
Here, Long hid the drugs in a nearby pile of wood, and put the opium in his pocket, waiting for Dan to pay him. While Long and Thuan were preparingdrug deliveryWhen she was about to give Dan money to receive her wages, the police checked and discovered that they had confiscated 1 heroin cake weighing 331 grams and 3 packages of pink phien weighing 57 grams. The woman named Dan escaped. On May 30, Hoang Nghia Thuan went to the police station to surrender.
It is known that defendant Long has 4 wives. The defendant's current wife stated that she did not know about her husband's drug trafficking. At the trial, the two defendants admitted to their crimes. Defendant Thuan stated that he came to live and work for Long because he was addicted to drugs. On the day Long gave drugs to customers, defendant Thuan knew but still went along. Defendant Long stated that he bought drugs for a woman named Dan.
Considering the role of each defendant in the case, the panel sentenced Nguyen Nhu Long to 18 years in prison and defendant Hoang Nghia Thuan to 11 years in prison, both for the crime of illegal drug trafficking.
