Nghe An: Highlights on November 30

*SNovember 30, in Vinh City, Nghe An Province in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoiorganize scientific seminars"Nghe An - 990 years of formation and development". This is an important event of profound historical and political significance in a series of practical activities to celebrate the 990th anniversary of the title Nghe An (1030 - 2020).

Speaking at the opening of the Workshop, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed: The scientific workshop "Nghe An - 990 years of formation and development"to recreate the historical appearance; affirm the position, role and great contributions of the land and people of Nghe An in the nation's long journey of building and defending the country.

At the same time, continue to affirm and honor the historical, cultural, patriotic and revolutionary traditions of Nghe An homeland, thereby expressing the sentiments and morality of remembering the source of water for generations of ancestors who have contributed to building and defending the country; contributing to preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of Nghe An people in the period of integration and development.

*Twithin the framework of the scientific conference "Nghe An - 990 years of formation and development",Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang- Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council gave an important speech.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that the glorious history of formation and development of Nghe An province is a very vivid and eloquent symbol of the thousands of years of history of building and defending the country of our people. As a land of outstanding people, always having a very important geo-strategic position throughout history, especially in the Ho Chi Minh era, Nghe An has fostered precious cultural and spiritual values, a convergence point of the quintessence that enriches the Vietnamese identity: diligence and creativity in labor; heroic, brave in combat and very intelligent in studying; beautiful, pure in love for the homeland and country, contributing greatly to shaping a Vietnam that, as General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed, "has never had such a foundation, position and prestige as today", and the whole country is continuing to spread the noble values ​​of the Vietnamese people in the international arena.

The Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics noted that it is necessary to continue comprehensive research, collect more historical, cultural, archaeological... data to contribute to deepening the formation and development process of Nghe An province; from there, there will be more convincing scientific arguments to honor and spread the historical, traditional and cultural values ​​of the land and people of Nghe An, transfer cultural and historical values ​​into development values ​​for the province, contributing to strongly affirming the great contributions of Nghe An in the history of thousands of years of building and defending the country, in the struggle for national independence in the past as well as in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland today.

*COn the afternoon of November 30, during her working program in Nghe An, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Politburo member, National Assembly Chairwoman visited, presented gifts, and encouraged the families of martyrs who sacrificed their lives while performing search and rescue missions last October.

In recent times, due to the consecutive impacts of storms, flooding, flash floods and serious landslides have occurred, causing people in the Central provinces, including people in 5 provinces under Military Region 4, to suffer much damage, pain and loss.

During the search and rescue mission, 35 officers and soldiers of Military Region 4 heroically sacrificed their lives, leaving behind endless sorrow for the Party, the State, the Army, their families, comrades and the People.

During her working trip to Nghe An, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the delegation directly visited the families of martyrs Nguyen Canh Cuong in Nghi Lien commune (Vinh city) and Dinh Van Trung in Ben Thuy ward (Vinh city). The two martyrs, both from the 80th Information Brigade, Military Region 4, died while performing rescue missions at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant, Phong Dien district, Thua Thien - Hue province.

At the Office of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the National Assembly Chairman directly met, visited and presented gifts to the relatives of 27 families of martyrs of Military Region 4 who died while performing search and rescue missions recently.

At the visiting families, as well as at the meeting with relatives of the 27 martyrs, on behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Party and State leaders, Comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan sent sincere and deep condolences for the sacrifices and losses of the families; and expressed gratitude to the fallen comrades.
