(Baonghean.vn) - On December 7, 2020, Nghe An Electronic Newspaper published a series of photos "Countless trash on the surface of Hua Na Hydropower Lake". On December 8, 2020, Que Phong District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 1751/UBND-TN requesting Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company and owners of 7 lakes and hydropower dams in the area to clean up trash and ensure environmental sanitation in the lake bed.

Document No. 1751/UBND-TN clearly states: Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 854/UBND-CN dated February 20, 2020 on cleaning up waste in the hydroelectric reservoir, dated March 13, 2020,People's Committee of Que Phong districtissued Official Dispatch No. 346/UBND-TN on cleaning up waste in hydroelectric reservoirs to owners.

However, in the district, some hydroelectric dams still have floating trash in the lake, causing unsafety for boats and polluting the environment.

So the District People's CommitteeQue PhongRequest: Owners of hydroelectric dams, preside over and coordinate with local authorities to clean and collect floating garbage in the entire reservoir area of ​​the factory, and handle floating garbage and forest products after cleaning in accordance with the provisions of law. Request the participation of specialized staff and representatives of the People's Committee of the commune where the dam is located in the process of cleaning the reservoir, confirming that the collection of garbage in the reservoir has been completed. The results of the handling must be reported to the District People's Committee before December 15, 2020.

Strictly comply with the requirements in the environmental impact assessment report or detailed environmental protection plan approved by the competent authority and relevant environmental protection laws.

In Que Phong district, there are currently 8 hydroelectric dams including: Chau Thang hydroelectric reservoir (Muong Noc commune), Song Quang hydroelectric reservoir (Chau Thon commune), Nhan Hac hydroelectric reservoir (Muong Noc commune), Dong Van hydroelectric reservoir (Dong Van commune), Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir (Dong Van and Thong Thu communes), Sao Va hydroelectric reservoir (Hanh Dich commune), Nam Giai hydroelectric reservoir (Nam Giai commune), Ban Coc hydroelectric reservoir (Chau Kim commune).
