(Baonghean.vn) - In response to questions from provincial People's Council representatives regarding solutions to limit delayed projects, the leaders of the Nghe An Department of Planning and Investment (DPI) stated that they will continue to review the "inputs" and "outputs" of projects.

On the afternoon of December 12th, during the question-and-answer session of the 17th meeting of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, 17th term, delegate Dinh Thi An Phong - representing Nghi Loc district - questioned the leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment: "How many unfinished and prolonged projects are there in the province, and what are the solutions for handling them, as well as future solutions to reduce project delays?"

In response to the delegates, heNguyen Xuan Duc - Director of the Department of Planning and InvestmentAccording to reports, for some projects, from implementation to completion, there are approximately 10 procedures, including investment policy approval, construction permits, 1/500 scale planning; land surveying, land clearance, land allocation, construction implementation, etc.

From 2012 to the present, Nghe An province has inspected 454 projects, of which 183 projects with delayed progress have been revoked. In the period 2016-2020 alone, the number of inspections was 2.2 times higher than in the period 2011-2015.

In Cua Lo town, 30 projects were inspected, and 10 were revoked.

Regarding future solutions, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duc stated that the Department will implement management software to update project details. Currently, the number of projects that have been granted investment certificates in the province is approximately 1,400.

In addition, the Department continues to review projects, including reviewing "inputs" and "outputs". Accordingly, regarding "inputs", the unit will coordinate with the Department of Finance and the Tax Department to verify the financial capacity of the investor to meet 15-20% of the total investment of the project (depending on the investment project); at the same time, requiring investors to deposit 1-3% as stipulated on the total investment of the project.

Currently, in Nghe An province, projects have deposited a total of 320 billion VND.
