(Baonghean.vn) - After a period of installation and transfer, Nghe An Center for Disease Control officially put the Realtime PCR System, Model: m2000rt Instrument System for SARS-CoV-2 testing into operation.

Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Director of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) Nghe An said: After a period of time, the Department of Health completed the bidding and procurement procedures, CDC Nghe An was equipped and installed the Realtime PCR system, Model: m2000rt Instrument System and officially put into operation SARS-CoV-2 testing to serve the epidemic prevention work.Covid-19on the afternoon of December 16, 2020.

This is a modern testing system including an automatic DNA/RNA extraction and Mix PCR system, a Realtime PCR reader system and accompanying equipment.

This system completely replaces the previous manual extraction, helping to save testing time and reduce the risk of infection for technicians during the testing process.

“Previously, to perform the testSARS-CoV-2, we had to borrow machines, as well as receive support from local hospitals, so the testing work encountered many difficulties. With this machine system, CDC Nghe An can conduct tests on 600 samples per day. This will create favorable conditions for the fight against the epidemic" - Dr. Nguyen Van Dinh shared.

It is known that since the outbreak of Covid-19, CDC Nghe An has conducted PCR tests on 17,492 samples and rapid tests on 1,954 cases. Equipping a modern testing system will help improve the testing capacity of CDC, helping with screening, detecting, isolating, and treating promptly, preventing the spread to the community.
