A pair of cousins in Thanh Chuong lead a transnational drug ring.
(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City Police have just busted a transnational drug trafficking ring, arresting two suspects along with a huge quantity of drugs and firecrackers.

At about 9:00 p.m. on December 19, in the area of National Highway 46C (in Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An), Vinh City Police presided over and coordinated with Thanh Chuong District Police and Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station, Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station to arrest Hoang Van Tuan (born in 1978), residing in Long Tien hamlet, Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong district, while he was transporting drugs for sale by motorbike.

When surrounded and arrested, the subject used weapons to fiercely fight back against the authorities in an attempt to escape, but with the bravery of the officers and soldiers, the subject was taken to headquarters. At the scene, 10 heroin cakes, 2 kg of crystal meth, 2 kg of ketamine and 4,000 synthetic drug pills were seized.

Expanding the investigation, on the same day, the Task Force continued to arrest Hoang Van Phuong (born 1969), residing in Long Tien hamlet, Thanh Long commune (Thanh Chuong), who is also the leader of this ring. Confiscated from his home were 1 heroin cake, 1,000 synthetic drug pills and 20 kg of firecrackers. At the investigation agency, the 2 subjects said they were cousins, colluding with each other to trade drugs for profit.
The case is currently under further investigation.
