Nghe An: Solemn Ceremony to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the First General Election Day

WORTHY OF THE TRUST OF VOTERS AND PEOPLE

The Tan Trao National Congress is a milestone in the glorious history of the Vietnamese revolution, the predecessor of the Vietnamese National Assembly. From the Tan Trao National Congress to the August Revolution, National Day on September 2, 1945 and the first General Election to elect deputies to the first National Assembly on January 6, 1946 were important events, opening a new era in the history of the Vietnamese nation.

The General Election on January 6, 1946 went down in the history of the country as a brilliant milestone, electing the first National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. After 75 years,Our National Assembly has had 14 terms..

Along with the maturity of the Vietnamese National Assembly, over the past 75 years,Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Nghe An provinceOver the years, the organization and methods of operation have been constantly innovated, improving the quality of representatives to meet the requirements of development.

Nghe An is one of the four delegations with the largest number of National Assembly deputies in the country. In the 14th term, 2016 - 2021, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation has 14 deputies (4 full-time deputies, 10 part-time deputies); of which 6 deputies work in central agencies, 8 deputies work locally.

With responsibility to voters, the National Assembly deputies of Nghe An province, despite their different positions and working environments, have always paid attention to coordinating and sharing, made many efforts, tried to promote their capacity, theoretical level, practical experience, discussed thoroughly, analyzed deeply, contributed many quality opinions, contributing with the National Assembly to effectively carry out legislative activities, supervise, and decide on important issues of the country.

The National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province organized 85 seminars and conferences to collect opinions on draft laws submitted to the National Assembly; 146 opinions were expressed in the hall, 306 opinions were expressed in groups participating in drafting draft laws and discussing socio-economic and national security issues at National Assembly sessions.

The delegation has carried out 9 monitoring programs in localities, focusing on key and urgent issues of socio-economic life, which are of interest to a large number of voters and people; coordinated with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and localities to organize 312 meetings with voters, including 278 meetings with voters at the constituency, 12 meetings with voters on thematic topics, 1 meeting with voters outside the locality running for election with voters from Nghe An living and working in Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum provinces; compiled 1,368 groups of voters' petitions and sent them to competent authorities for consideration and resolution.

Speaking at the Anniversary and Meeting Ceremony, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: Throughout the glorious journey of our National Assembly, there have always been worthy and positive contributions from generations of National Assembly Deputies and the National Assembly Delegation of Nghe An province.

Generations of National Assembly deputies of Nghe An province have always upheld the tradition of patriotism, solidarity, responsibility, intelligence, courage, depth and sharpness in participating in the activities of the National Assembly. The activities of the provincial National Assembly Delegation have contributed to improving the quality and effectiveness of the National Assembly's activities in all fields; at the same time, promoting socio-economic development and movements in the locality.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary warmly congratulated the outstanding achievements and marks of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; sincerely thanked the delegates for their attention, support and active contributions to the development of the province throughout the past revolutionary journey.

Proud of the contributions over the past 75 years as well as during the 2016 - 2021 term; at the same time realizing that, in response to the requirement to improve the quality of comprehensive activities of the National Assembly, meeting the increasingly higher expectations of voters and people, the head of the Provincial Party Committee suggested that the National Assembly Deputies and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation need to continue to innovate more strongly in terms of organization and activities.

The 75th anniversary of the first General Election and the summary of the 14th National Assembly term of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation took place at an extremely important time, the whole country was excitedly looking forward to the 13th National Congress of the Party.

In particular, Nghe An recently successfully organized the 19th Provincial Party Congress, which determined the goals and aspirations of Nghe An to strive to become a well-off province in the Northern region by 2025 and a well-off province in the whole country by 2030.

The entire Party Committee, cadres, soldiers and people of the province are also enthusiastically competing in labor production, study and work, especially continuing to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, making every effort to fulfill the highest targets and tasks of 2020.

“To successfully achieve the set great goals, the province really needs the cooperation, contribution, support and companionship of the National Assembly Deputies and the National Assembly Delegation of the province; especially giving advice and recommendations to remove obstacles related to mechanisms and policies within the authority and responsibility according to the law,” said the head of the Provincial Party Committee.

In addition, it is recommended that the National Assembly Deputies and the National Assembly Delegation of the province continue to perform well the supreme supervision function in the law enforcement process, and contribute comments and point out the limitations in the management and operation of the provincial authorities at all levels for timely correction and better operation.

Strengthen coordination of activities at the local level, especially with the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Council's committees, the People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and all levels and sectors in resolving issues related to the legitimate and legal rights of voters.

The immediate task is to closely coordinate with all levels and sectors in the province to carefully prepare in all aspects to successfully organize the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term, ensuring democracy, equality, and compliance with the law, truly a festival for all people.

"The Provincial Party Standing Committee will direct authorities at all levels to create the best possible conditions for the delegates and the National Assembly Delegation to perform their duties well," the Provincial Party Secretary affirmed./.
