Couple arrested for transporting drugs hidden in a double-bottomed candy box
(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities caught a man and a woman red-handed while they were trading drugs in Vinh city. The seized drugs weighed 13 kg and were pressed into large sheets and hidden in double-bottomed styrofoam boxes.
The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Nghe An Police, has just coordinated with Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, Customs, Border Guard and Police of Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces to crack down ontransnational drug ringcleverly disguised in candy boxes.

Accordingly, on December 30, 2020, the anti-drug forces of the above units coordinated to organize the arrest of two subjects Khuat Dinh Dien (born in 1982) and Dang Thi Thu Trang (born in 1984), both residing in Mao Khe ward, Dong Trieu town, Quang Ninh province, while they were transacting in the area of Nguyen Du street, Ben Thuy ward, Vinh city, Nghe An province.
The seized drugs were identified as heroin, weighing 13 kg (equivalent to about 35 cakes) pressed into large sheets hidden in double-bottomed foam boxes, with the upper part containing candy and soft drinks, and the lower part containing drugs.

At the police station, the subjects confessed that the above drugs were ordered and transported from Laos to Vietnam, through Cha Lo Border Gate, Minh Hoa District, Quang Binh Province.
Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police, has handed over the subjects and evidence to the Border Guard of Quang Binh Province for further handling according to the provisions of law.
