Announcing socio-economic statistics of Nghe An province in 2020

On the afternoon of January 5, the Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office held a press conference to announce the province's socio-economic statistics in 2020. At the press conference, Director of Nghe An Provincial Statistics Office Phan Truong Son reported on some basic issues on the socio-economic situation of Nghe An province in 2020.

Accordingly, in the context of the epidemicCovid-19complicated developments, the province continues to effectively implement epidemic prevention and control solutions, synchronously deploying solutions for sustainable socio-economic development in the integration period. Exploiting and using resources economically and effectively, firmly ensuring national defense, security, political stability and social order and safety.

As a result, the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in 2020 is estimated at VND 84,625 billion, an increase of 4.45% over 2019.

In the general growth of the economy, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated to reach 18,473 billion VND, up 4.99%; the industry - construction sector is estimated to reach 25,860 billion VND, up 7.92%; the service sector is estimated to reach 36,023 billion VND, up 2.22% and product tax minus product debt is 4,269 billion VND, up 1.07%, the reason for the low increase is due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and prolonged drought.

The GRDP growth rate in 2020 did not meet the set plan, in which the first 6 months of the year increased by 2.97%, the last 6 months of the year increased by 5.81%. The reason was that in the last 6 months of the year, the industry and product tax minus product debt increased sharply, in the first 6 months of the year, the industry only increased by 2.54%, but in the last 6 months of the year, it increased by 5.79%. The tax minus product debt increased in the first 6 months of the year, down 0.32%, and in the last 6 months of the year, it increased by 2.57%.

As of December 31, 2020,budget revenuein the province reached 17,128 billion VND, due to increased land use tax, extended tax payment of enterprises, car registration tax, import and export tax. The average income per capita of Nghe An province in 2020 reached 43.15 million VND.

In 2020, the average consumer price index (CPI) in 2020 increased by 2.83% over the same period in 2019. In 2020, the construction investment sector continued to develop steadily with many improvements. Total development investment capital in the area is estimated at 78,605 billion VND, an increase of 12.10% over 2019.

The wholesale and retail sector is a bright spot in the service sector with an increase of 7.62%, one of the sectors contributing positively to the overall growth of the province.Some industries maintain quite good growth.: Finance, banking, insurance increased.

Health and education activities have received attention and focus. During the year affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the province has proactively taken effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic, and has taken 33,326 test samples, with 100% of the samples being negative.

At the meeting, leaders of the Provincial Statistics Office and departments and branches discussed and clarified journalists' opinions on issues related to the province's socio-economic situation.
