Nghe An Province and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade agree to elevate their cooperative relationship.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

CLEAR COOPERATION RESULTS

On February 23, 2019, at the Spring Meeting with Investors 2019, representatives of VietinBank and Nghe An province signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the two sides. In the period of 2019-2020, Nghe An province and VietinBank have cooperated and supported each other, achieved many results, and made important contributions to the implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals and tasks and improved the bank's operational efficiency.

Over the past 2 years, Nghe An province has always supported and created favorable conditions for VietinBank to carry out business activities and promote its brand image. As of December 31, 2020, VietinBank's total mobilized capital in the province was VND 15,459 billion, accounting for 9.7% of the mobilized capital of the banking sector in the whole province and 17% of the mobilized capital in the State-owned commercial banking sector. Total outstanding credit balance was VND 23,216 billion, accounting for 10.3% of the total outstanding debt in the whole province and 22.6% of the outstanding debt in the State-owned commercial banking sector.

With the support of the province, VietinBank has approached and provided funding to corporate and individual customers in the province, including many large projects. The implementation of these projects has contributed to promoting economic growth, creating jobs for workers, and increasing budget revenue in the area.

Nghe An province always creates favorable conditions for accessing land, handling administrative procedures for registration, construction, land, etc. so that VietinBank can open transaction points and build headquarters quickly and promptly.

Over the past 2 years, Vietinbank has done a good job in social security and gratitude with many meaningful and practical programs in Nghe An province with a total support budget of 31.36 billion VND. Of which, in 2019 it was 11.63 billion VND and in 2020 it was 19.73 billion VND. VietinBank has also supported and resolved difficulties for businesses and people affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.

Elevating cooperation

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that 2020 is an extremely difficult year for the province due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and natural disasters.

However, with the determination and great efforts of the entire political system, the people and the business community, the socio-economic development results in 2020 were quite positive. Contributing to these results is the role of the banking and finance sector in general and VietinBank in particular.

In 2021, Nghe An set the target of a growth rate of gross domestic product (GRDP) of 7.5% - 8.5%; budget revenue of 14,032.3 billion VND; total investment for social development of 88,000 billion VND; GRDP per capita of 48-49 million VND; 20 more communes meeting new rural standards; a reduction in the poverty rate of 0.5-0.7%... Therefore, Nghe An province hopes that the banking and finance sector in general and VietinBank in particular will continue to contribute to the province's development goals.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Duc Tho - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VietinBank congratulated the achievements in socio-economic development in the 2015-2020 term, especially in 2020 of Nghe An province, as well as the success of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of VietinBank emphasized the need to enhance the cooperative relationship between the two sides in the coming time and said that there should be closer cooperation contents to turn Nghe An's potential into conditions to promote, creating favorable conditions for Nghe An province and VietinBank.

VietinBank wishes to accompany the province from the first year of the 2020 - 2025 term, so that Nghe An will soon become a fairly developed province in the North by 2025 and a fairly developed province in the country by 2030. At the same time, it wishes to coordinate with Nghe An in each specific program and topic and commits to fully meet the capital needs for Nghe An to develop.

Thanking VietinBank for its cooperation and companionship in the socio-economic development of Nghe An in recent times, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also said that the cooperative relationship between Nghe An province and VietinBank is still not commensurate with the potential, desires and advantages of both sides. Therefore, he hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to cooperate on each topic. He requested VietinBank to continue calling for investors to the province, supporting existing investors in the area; continuing to join hands to support and share with the people of Western Nghe An, especially policy families, poor and disadvantaged households.

The head of the Provincial Party Committee also agreed with the viewpoint of continuing to elevate the cooperative relationship between the two sides in a comprehensive and strategic direction in the coming time.

At the meeting, VietinBank leaders presented a handover plaque for social security projects sponsored by VietinBank to Nghe An in 2 years (2019, 2020) with a total value of 30.75 billion VND.

At the meeting, the two sides also agreed on the contents of cooperation in the coming time. In particular, VietinBank will continue to support the province in introducing the province's potential, investment opportunities, investment attraction policies and mechanisms to partners and customers of VietinBank; Support the province in planning functional areas and urban areas; Support the province through funding activities for education, health, social security and other activities; Coordinate with the province to implement public service payments on the Nghe An Provincial Online Public Service Portal...

On the side of Nghe An province, it will support and facilitate VietinBank in promoting its image and brand; prioritize VietinBank as the provider of banking products and services in the implementation of e-Government and Smart City; continue to facilitate VietinBank in opening accounts and providing salary payment services for provincial agencies; support VietinBank in promoting the development of non-cash payment services in the area...
