Becoming a boss of international human organ trafficking after kidney transplant
After returning from the kidney transplant, Huyen suddenly became the boss of a kidney trafficking ring from Vietnam to Cambodia.
According to the prosecution, in 2009, when going for a kidney transplant in China, Huyen became acquainted with Doan Thanh Nhan (Vietnamese, unknown origin) living in Cambodia.
At the end of 2016, Huyen went to Cambodia and met Nhan. While chatting, Nhan asked Huyen to find a match.sell a kidneywith a doctor named Tran (Singaporean), working at the Military Hospital in the capital Phnom Penh.

Seeing the huge profit, Huyen quickly agreed. Returning to Vietnam, Huyen found Dao Duc Hai Viet (27 years old, from Bac Ninh), took him to Cambodia to sell his kidney, and at the same time lured Viet into joining her kidney trafficking ring. According to Huyen's assignment, Viet went online to find kidney sellers. For each successful case, Huyen would pay him 15-25 million VND.
In addition, Huyen also assigned Viet to take kidney sellers to Hanoi Medical University Hospital for testing with a fee of 1-3 million VND. Huyen gave these test samples to Tran to cross-check and get the results.
Huyen continued to lure Dao Quang Hung (29 years old, living in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) - a kidney selling victim to join her network.
Under Huyen’s direction, Hung and Viet led 5 more people to join her kidney trafficking ring. The victims were taken to hospitals such as Cho Ray, Hoa Hao, Thong Nhat, Tri Duc, 115, Thuan Kieu clinic... for testing and then followed Huyen to Cambodia for kidney removal surgery.
After the job is done, the kidney seller will rest in the hospital for 12 days. When their health is stable, they will be sent back to their country and Huyen will pay them 200-210 million VND.
According to the investigation, from April 2017 to January 21, 2019, Huyen's group found 100 kidney sellers and brought 37 people to Cambodia.kidney transplant. The remaining victims have not found suitable kidney transplant partners so Huyen has not sent them yet.
This inhumane behavior of Huyen helped her illegally earn more than 2.5 billion VND.
According to the assessment results, the disability rate of the victims who sold their kidneys to Huyen, the lowest person lost 45% of their health, the highest person lost up to 69%.
The actions of Huyen and her 7 accomplices constitute the crime of "Buying and selling human body parts", according to Clause 3, Article 154 of the Penal Code.
