Twitter CEO: Deleting Trump's account was the right thing to do!
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey spoke out for the first time after the platform permanently locked US President Donald Trump's account over concerns of inciting violence.
"I believe this is the right decision for Twitter. We were faced with an extraordinary and unavoidable situation that forced us to focus our actions on ensuring community safety," the Washington Post quoted Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, as saying on January 14.
Jack Dorsey noted that the harm caused by statements on social networks is real and said that the decision to permanently block the @realDonaldTrump account was made after considering the threats of statements that could cause unrest outside of Twitter's social network life.

Twitter permanently banned Mr. Trump's account with 88 million followers on January 8. The ban was implemented 12 hours after Mr. Trump's account was suspended during the Capitol riot on January 6. At that time, Mr. Trump's supporters stormed the Capitol as Congress met to approve the election results. The incident left at least 5 people dead, including an officer. On January 13, Mr. Trump was asked to be impeached by the House of Representatives on charges of "inciting violence."
In addition to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat... have also suspended Mr. Trump's account. Meanwhile, Apple and Google have removed Parler from the app store. Parler is a social network that attracts the attention of right-wing people (supporters of Trump and the Republican Party) when popular social networks are banned.
