National Rifle Association files for bankruptcy after Capitol riots

The nation's largest gun lobby, the National Rifle Association (NRA), has filed for bankruptcy and moved from New York to Texas.

“The plan can be described simply: We will leave New York and plan to re-register the NRA in Texas,” according to a news release published on the organization’s website.

As part of the bankruptcy proceedings, the organization plans to streamline its current operations and will not make any staff cuts, according to the commentary.

“We are taking action at a time when the NRA is in its best financial shape in years,” the NRA stressed.
