The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee held its regular meeting in January.

The Provincial Party Standing Committee listened to and gave opinions on the Project on scientific and social humanities research to serve rapid and sustainable development in Nghe An in the period of 2021 - 2025 and vision to 2030.

This is an important project that serves as an ideological basis for guiding the direction of socio-economic development; a scientific basis for planning the Party's policies and guidelines; and plays an active supporting role in the socio-economic development of the locality in the direction of rapid and sustainable development.

The draft Project of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee shows that the project's content includes: Evaluation of research tasks, summary of practices and development of social sciences and humanities in Nghe An in the period 2008 - 2020 (Project 899).

In addition, the draft Project also provides orientations and research tasks for the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030; in which the research tasks focus on groups of political, economic and social issues; groups of historical, cultural and human issues; groups of ethnic and religious issues; groups of national defense and security issues.

The draft project also sets out 9 priority tasks such as: Developing the business force based on science, technology and innovation; researching social structure, social stratification and rich-poor polarization in Nghe An, proposing orientation and management solutions to contribute to ensuring sustainable socio-economic development; developing linkage tourism and sustainable tourism in Nghe An in the new context; continuing to complete 7 books: Nghe An toan chi;...

In the draft Project, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to give opinions on the policy: Building a Project to establish the Nghe An Institute of Socio-Economics on the basis of upgrading the Nghe An Center for Social Sciences and Humanities.

At the meeting, comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee and representatives of some Central Party committees contributed comments to the draft Project such as: It is necessary to clarify the necessity of issuing the project; add the task of researching Party building and the political system to the research task for the period 2021 - 2025, vision 2030; human resources to research topics under the Project, implementation resources;...

Comrade Ha Dung Hai - Head of the General Department, Central Propaganda Department said that the draft Project needs to demonstrate the progress of implementation of research topics; the research content also needs to closely follow reality, especially the content set out in the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong suggested that the Project needs to determine its position and role in practice, especially with the leadership of Party committees at all levels to serve the development of the province. On the other hand, the scientific Project must produce products to determine the tasks and methods of the resolution.

Concluding this content, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee to assign the drafting agency to re-prepare the draft Project to submit to the Provincial Party Standing Committee. In particular, it is necessary to evaluate and analyze more deeply the results of the implementation of Project 899 in the direction of generalizing the value brought in the recent implementation period.

Regarding the orientation and research tasks for the 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2030, the head of the Provincial Party Committee requested that it is necessary to base on the key and key contents identified in the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the key programs and projects in the Action Program to implement the Resolution; thereby having effective research, demonstrating real leadership, immediately serving the development process of the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that the selection of research topics in the Project for the next phase must be carefully selected, not spread out; demonstrating the resources for implementation, assignment of leading tasks, as well as completion progress.

Regarding the progress of implementing the topics in the Project, comrade Thai Thanh Quy noted that it is necessary to focus on research and the research completion milestone is in the first years of the term to serve the entire term as well as until 2030. The drafting agency also needs to absorb opinions at the meeting for additional research during the process of re-preparing the draft Project.
