(Baonghean.vn) - Invited by a friend from Dien Chau to Tan Ky for a party, Tien stole his friend's expensive phone and took it to a pawn shop to pawn it for money to spend.

On January 22, 2021, Tan Ky District People's Court tried a criminal case against Cao Dang Tien, born in 1985, residing in Hamlet 4, Dien Tan Commune, Dien Chau District, for theft of property.
At around 11:30 a.m. on November 1, 2020, Tien went to the house of Nguyen Ba Trieu, born in 1986, residing in Hamlet 10, Ky Son Commune (Tan Ky) to drink alcohol. At the drinking party organized by Trieu, many people attended.

During the festival, Mr. Nguyen Ba Trieu used an expensive Samsung phone with a sim card inside to play music directly for karaoke singing in the yard.

At around 2:00 p.m. that same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tung (Trieu's wife) left Trieu's phone on the mat where Trieu was sitting drinking. When no one was paying attention, Tien stole the phone and hid it, then returned to continue drinking and sleeping at Trieu's house.

At around 12 o'clock on November 3, 2020, Tien invited Le Van Thuan to his house to play, and at the same time brought Trieu's stolen phone to hire a technician to break the password andmortgagetook 5 million dong. Holding the money, Tien and Thuan went to Tan Ky district. Tien left 4,400,000 dong for Thuan to hold for him so that he could pay off his debt the next day. Tien spent the remaining 600,000 dong on personal expenses.
On November 4, 2011, Nguyen Ba Trieu filed a complaint with the Tan Ky District Police Investigation Agency about the theft of his phone. On the same day, the Tan Ky District Police Investigation Agency conducted an administrative check on Tien while he was at the Son Huong restaurant in Ky Nam hamlet, Ky Son commune, and discovered that Tien's wallet contained many phone numbers, including Trieu's phone number.

The Investigation Police Agency has made a record of emergency detention of Tien and proceeded to collect evidence.
The phone was valued at 8.1 million VND by the Council. At the trial, Cao Dang Tien admitted his crime of theft.
Tien had previously been imprisoned three times for drug possession and theft. His criminal record has not yet been cleared. The jury sentenced Tien to 24 months in prison.
