In case the AFC announces the postponement of the World Cup qualifying matches from March to June, the time for the Vietnam National Team to gather and compete during this period will be given up toV.League 2021.

Based on FIFA's proposal, all matches in the second qualifying round of the World Cup will have to end on June 15 to save time to prepare for the third qualifying round.

VFF Permanent Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan said: "Up to this moment, AFC has not made any decision or official announcement. But VFF will closely follow the developments and receive instructions from AFC to have a suitable preparation plan."
