KEY POLITICAL TASKS OF THE WHOLE PARTY AND PEOPLE

Speaking at the opening of the conference, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee emphasized that the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Provincial Party Executive Committee determined that the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term is one of the key political tasks of the entire Party Committee and people of the province in 2021.

The Provincial Party Secretary informed that the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term is scheduled to be held on Sunday (May 23, 2021). There is not much time left, while a large and important amount of work must be carried out; the Covid-19 epidemic situation has reappeared in many localities across the country and is evolving complicatedly. That context poses no small challenge and pressure on the direction and implementation of elections nationwide, including Nghe An province.

Promoting valuable lessons learned from the successful organization of the Party Congresses at all levels of the province in the recent past, in the difficult context caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee noted a number of tasks:

Preparation work must be proactive, thoughtful, with the highest responsibility and quality; comprehensive, proactive, anticipating all work and possible situations, assigning responsibilities clearly, clearly to people, clearly to work, scientifically, reasonably and effectively.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee said that in the process of preparing conditions to ensure the organization of the election, it is necessary to pay special attention to personnel work. Linking the personnel results of Party congresses at all levels and personnel planning with personnel preparation work to introduce people who are exemplary in terms of qualities, ethics and capacity, have a firm political viewpoint and stance, meet the standards prescribed by law, and have the conditions to perform well the task of running for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.

“Resolutely not recommending candidates who are unworthy or unqualified, especially in terms of ethics and political attitude, in order to select and elect National Assembly and People's Council delegates at all levels who represent the voice of more than 3.3 million voters and people of the province; who are capable of actively contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress; including the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021 - 2025); the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2021 - 2030) and other important political tasks”, emphasized Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy.

DETERMINED, EFFORT, COMPLETE THE ELECTION WELL

At the conference, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee disseminated Directive No. 45-CT/TW dated June 20, 2020 of the Politburo on leading the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and election of People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2021 - 2026.

To achieve high results in the election, the Politburo requested Party committees and organizations at all levels to lead and direct the implementation of 9 key tasks. Among them, building a specific plan to lead and direct the successful organization of the election; ensuring that the election is conducted democratically, equally, legally, safely, economically and truly a festival for all people.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee disseminated Directive No. 04/CT-UBND dated January 22, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and election of People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2021 - 2026.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee requested all levels and sectors to promptly and extensively disseminate information to cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces and all classes of people about the meaning and importance of the election; the right to run for election and the right to vote of citizens as prescribed by the Constitution; the basic contents of the Law; Directives and guiding documents on elections... contributing to raising the sense of ownership and self-awareness of each citizen, agency and organization in carrying out the election work.

The Provincial Election Committee has also disseminated and provided guidance on personnel work for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels; provided guidance on organizing voters' conferences, introducing candidates for People's Council deputies at commune level in villages, hamlets, and residential groups; consulted, introduced candidates, and made lists of candidates for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies in by-elections; and deployed the Plan for the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the election of People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Concluding the conference, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son -The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Head of the Provincial Election Steering Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee emphasized that through the conference, we have the conditions to understand more fully and deeply the purpose, requirements, content, and steps of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels, term 2021 - 2026.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son suggested that, after the conference, the units continue to study and thoroughly understand the central documents and the documents of the province. Based on the plan issued by the province, the units are requested to review and revise to complete their plans in order to conduct the election to ensure progress, compliance with the law and quality.
