There is currently no information on how long the virus can survive on food, and the FDA says there is no information on the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 can be transmitted through fresh or packaged food.
Associate Professor, Dr. Le Quynh Mai also recommends that if people are still concerned about the possibility of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus through food, they should follow hygiene instructions, wash their hands after handling food, vegetables and fruits with soap, wear masks when going to the market, and clean food and vegetable containers regularly.
