White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed on February 27 that the US administration's new sanctions against Russia will be issued in the "coming weeks".

Speaking at a press conference, the White House Press Secretary affirmed that the US government will review and consider the accusations of Russia "interfering" in the US election, attacks by Russian hackers, as well as sources saying that Russian intelligence forces have offered rewards for attacks on US soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, in order to issue appropriate measures.

Ms. Jen Psaki also affirmed that the sanctions will be announced in "weeks" and not "months".

Previously, during the US presidential election in November 2020, Russia was accused of interfering in internal affairs after Russian hackers were believed to be behind cyber attacks in the US.

In 2020, the New York Times also cited a report by anonymous US intelligence officials saying that,Russian intelligence forcesoffered bounties to Taliban-linked militants to attack US troops in Afghanistan. However, the article did not provide any specific evidence.

Russian authorities have repeatedly denied all of the above accusations and said that the US has "no basis" and specific evidence./.
