Venezuelan President and his wife receive Covid-19 vaccine produced by Russia

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores received the first doses of the Russian-made Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine on March 6.

Speaking after being vaccinated, Mr. Nicolas Maduro said he felt no problem receiving the injection: "I have been vaccinated. I do not feel any problem. We will try to ensure enough vaccines for people to use."

Earlier, the Venezuelan Ministry of Health said that the country had received the second batch of Sputnik V vaccine, with about 100,000 doses, shipped by air. Previously, in mid-February, Venezuela also received the first 100,000 doses of vaccine. This South American country has invested 200 million dollars to buy 10 million doses of vaccine produced by Russia.

So far, Venezuela has recorded more than 141,350 cases and more than 1,370 deaths from Covid-19./.
