*SOn the morning of March 8th, an event took place in Hanoi.Conference of the Central Executive Committee of the PartyThis is the second meeting of the 13th Party Congress. Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong presided over the meeting.

At this conference, the Central Committee will consider and discuss: the full-term work program of the 13th Central Committee; the nomination of high-level leadership personnel for state agencies; and several other important issues.

In his opening remarks at the Conference, on behalf of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong stated that since the 13th National Congress of the Party, the Politburo has urgently directed the completion and publication of the Congress documents; prepared to issue a Politburo Directive on studying, understanding, disseminating, and implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; and prepared to develop working regulations, along with several other important contents.

*TImplementing the "Green Sunday" program, youth union members throughout Nghe An province havesimultaneously went down to the fields.Helping farmers eradicate golden apple snails and protect their spring rice crops.

This year's spring rice crop in the province covers 90,700 hectares, including 31,600 hectares sown directly. Currently, the weather is warming up, and the rice plants have begun to develop; however, this is accompanied by a widespread infestation of golden apple snails.

In many localities, golden apple snails appear in very high densities, gnawing at the stems and roots of rice plants, causing large areas of rice to die. After transplanting, the area of ​​spring rice damaged by golden apple snails reached 387 hectares.

As part of the "Green Sunday" program, on March 7th, youth union members throughout the province simultaneously went to the fields to help farmers eradicate golden apple snails.

*Lrelated toLumpy skin diseaseRecently, Vinh City officially announced that the disease had occurred in Nghi Lien commune, an administrative unit that was merged into the city from Nghi Loc district, after affecting buffalo and cattle herds in Nghi Loc district.

Accordingly, along with the official announcement of the outbreak of nodular dermatitis in the cattle herd of Nghi Lien commune, the Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee assigned the Vinh City Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control, the City's Agricultural Services Center, and the Nghi Lien Commune People's Committee to immediately implement disease prevention and control measures in livestock herds in accordance with the provisions of the 2015 Veterinary Law.

*TMeanwhile, in the mountainous district of Que Phong, farmers living in the reservoir area of ​​the Hua Na hydroelectric power plant are facing many difficulties.The lake's water source has dried up.at a record level.

A representative from Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock Company stated that the reason for the low water level in the reservoir is the lack of heavy rainfall in the basin last year, with significantly less rain than in previous years. Currently, the water level is less than 50% of the designed capacity, and due to the lack of rain, the hydropower reservoir is continuing to dry up.

Mr. Phan Trong Dung, Head of the Agriculture Department of Que Phong district, said: The drying up of the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir is causing difficulties for nearly 400 fish cages belonging to people in the two communes of Thong Thu and Dong Van who are raising fish there.
