Former goalkeeper Duong Hong Son becomes deputy coach of Hanoi Club
(Baonghean.vn) - Hanoi Club's leadership has just added coach Duong Hong Son to the coaching staff before the match against Hai Phong Club in round 3 of V.League 2021.
Retiring in 2016, Duong Hong Son began taking on the position of goalkeeper coach at the Hanoi U19 team. Previously, the former goalkeeper ofSLNAHong Son, who won the AFF Cup 2008 with the Vietnam National Team, has completed the AFC B certificate coaching course. Continuously improving his qualifications, Hong Son leads the Hanoi U21 team and was selected as the coach of the Vietnam U21 team in 2019.
In the 2020 season, Coach Duong Hong Son made a resounding achievement when he brought Phu Tho Club to the National First Division as head coach. However, surprisingly, Duong Hong Son voluntarily asked to withdraw and his replacement was Vu Nhu Thanh.
Not long after Duong Hong Son left Phu Tho Club, Hanoi Club has officially announced that he will return to the capital team and take on the position of assistant coach. In the past, Duong Hong Son was associated with Hanoi as an assistant for 6 years (2013-2019) but in the B team.

Sharing with the media about his new position, Hong Son said: “From player to coach and returning to the generation of players I used to play with could be an advantage for me. The close relationship between the brothers as well as the exchange in terms of team building will help the head coach as well as the club.
Player overload has been a problem for Hanoi FC in recent years. However, I believe that with a good generation like the present, this will not be too big an obstacle. In the next few matches, Hanoi will show the cohesion of a collective."
