Greedy for double the profit, young man sells motorbike to traffic drugs
(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with huge profits, double the profit from drug trafficking, Vi Van Ngoc sold his motorbike to have money to buy "goods".
On March 22, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of defendant Vi Van Ngoc (born 1993), residing in Kim Son town (Que Phong) for the crime of "Illegal drug trafficking".
According to the indictment, due to previous acquaintance, on August 22, 2020, Vu Van Thanh (born in 1962), residing in Kim Son district (Ninh Binh) called Vi Van Ngoc to order 50 million VND worth of drugs for use.
Ngoc agreed to go to the Que Phong District Medical Center to meet a Mong man to ask about drugs. The two exchanged phone numbers.

A few days later, when Ngoc announced that he had the “goods”, Thanh took a bus to Nghe An. On August 26, Ngoc bought 2 packages of drugs (weighing 104.51 grams) for 25 million VND. When he got home, Ngoc sold them to Thanh for 47 million VND. Thanh put the drugs in 2 socks and kept them in his pocket.
Early on the morning of August 27, Thanh took a bus to Ninh Binh and was arrested by the police at Truong Banh intersection (in Tien Phong commune, Que Phong district).
On the same day, the investigation agency issued an emergency detention order and arrested Vi Van Ngoc. An emergency search of Ngoc's residence confiscated 1 gun and 10 bullets.homemade bullets
During the investigation, on September 10, 2020, Vu Van Thanh died at the Que Phong District Police Detention Center. The cause of death was respiratory failure, circulatory failure, and myocardial infarction. Therefore, the investigation agency has decided to suspend the investigation of the accused Vu Van Thanh for the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics".
At the trial, the defendant admitted to drug trafficking. Regarding the money used to buy drugs, Ngoc said it came from selling his motorbike. The defendant asked for a lighter sentence so he could return to his two young children.
Considering the case as a whole, the People's Court sentenced Vi Van Ngoc to 16 years in prison.
For Ngoc's act of possessing a hunting gun and 10 homemade bullets, the authorities have imposed an administrative penalty.
