Nghe An: Nearly 1,000 people participate in Olympic Running Day for public health
(Baonghean.vn) - After the launching ceremony, nearly 1,000 people participated in the campaign "All people exercise following Uncle Ho's example" for the period 2021 - 2030, the Olympic running day for the health of all people and the Nghe An Provincial Cross-Country Race in 2021.
On March 21, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh City), the Launching Ceremony of the Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People and the Opening Ceremony of the 2021 Nghe An Provincial Cross-Country Race took place.
Attending the ceremony were comrade: Nguyen Hong Minh - Deputy Director General of General Department of Sports and Physical Training.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Van Dung - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Head of the Organizing Committee; Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee; leaders of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies; representatives of departments and offices of the Provincial Party Committee; leaders of departments, branches, socio-political organizations; People's Committee, Department of Culture and Information, Centers of Culture, Sports and Information of 21 districts, cities and towns in the province.

This is an activity organized annually by the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An in response to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", with practical significance towards the 131st anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2021), the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union(March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2021), 75 years of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 - March 27, 2021) and major holidays in 2021.

This is also an opportunity to encourage all classes of people to participate in physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho and the movement "Healthy to build a career and defend the country" among young people nationwide, contributing to improving health to serve study, work, production, construction and defense of the Fatherland.
From there, promote and raise awareness of the role and effects of physical exercise and sports in protecting and improving people's health and quality of life; build a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc.

At the launching ceremony of the Olympic Running Day for the health of all people, comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented the theoretical and practical values of Ho Chi Minh's ideology on physical education and health through the call for all people to exercise with the viewpoint "A strong people makes a prosperous country".
After the launching ceremony, the Nghe An Provincial Cross Country Race was held at Lenin Avenue. The Olympic Running Day for the Health of the People had hundreds of young athletes from 21 districts, cities and towns in the province competing.
