Discussing solutions for renewable energy development in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An hopes that the Government and relevant sectors will support the locality in introducing its potential and attracting investors to exploit renewable energy. That was the recommendation made at the discussion "Paving the way for renewable energy development in Nghe An" held this morning.

Attending the conference were comrades: Ms. Nguy Thi Khanh - President of the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Alliance, Mr. Hoang Xuan Luong - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee and representatives of scientific and energy organizations. On the provincial side, there was comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, President of the Provincial Science and Technology Union and representatives of relevant departments and branches.
Speaking at the seminar, comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong highly appreciated the significance of this seminar, emphasizing that at a time when environmental pollution is at an alarming level, developing clean energy is necessary.
At the conference, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department presented recommendations and proposals for Nghe An to develop renewable energy such as: There should be a mechanism to encourage the development of solar power and a suitable price mechanism for each locality; The Ministry of Industry and Trade should have a specific roadmap for the development of solar and wind power for Nghe An; Support Nghe An to introduce its potential and attract investors to exploit renewable energy.

Renewable energy includes wind power, solar power and some other forms of energy planned and identified by the Government as one of the sources of national energy supply. In Nghe An, according to research results, preliminary surveys from localities show that the province has about 1,600 hectares of area that can be exploited for solar energy investment equivalent to a capacity of 1,300 MWp.
