Long Nhat had his dream shattered when he went to America. He was suspected of having tuberculosis and had to rush back to Vietnam for treatment.
Recently, on singer Long Nhat's YouTube channel, a clip was posted of him sitting and talking about getting sick when he went to America many years ago.
According toLong Nhat, in his singing career, there was a very big incident when he went to the US to sing in 2008. “I went there and was disappointed. First was the time zone difference. Second, the spring in California (USA) was too cold, while I was wearing very little clothes, so I got pneumonia and was at risk of complications from tuberculosis.
When I went there,Hoai LinhI tried to stop him and said that there were no shows in the US in the spring because during Tet, most overseas Vietnamese returned to Vietnam. But I had just gotten my visa at that time so I was eager to go.
After that, Long Nhat went to his sister's house in San Jose and fell ill with a high fever and had to be hospitalized. "At that time, the doctor said I might have tuberculosis because I was exhausted, depressed, and couldn't sleep due to the time zone change, the harsh weather, and the lack of shows like in Vietnam. I regretted and felt stressed because my decision was wrong.

Long Nhat shared that My recently rushed back to Vietnam because he was suspected of having tuberculosis. |
I called Hue and asked my brothers-in-law who are doctors if tuberculosis could be cured in Vietnam, and they said it was easy to cure now. Hearing that, I disobeyed the local hospital and traveled to Orange County to buy a ticket back to Saigon," the male singer said.
According to Long Nhat, he decided to leave the hospital in the US to return to Vietnam because he heard that treating tuberculosis takes a whole year and being in the US was too sad, because he only had one sister who was his uncle's biological child.
“While traveling from San Jose to Orange County, the nurse of the doctor in charge of me at that hospital kept calling me, but I said it was the wrong number and just went back to Southern California to fly back to Vietnam.
When he returned to Vietnam, Long Nhat went to all the hospitals in Saigon but could not find any disease. They did not find tuberculosis bacteria, nor did they find any disease. Therefore, everyone thought that the male singer was stressed and bored when he was in America, which caused the above symptoms to appear.
"I don't understand why, I don't cough but every afternoon I have a very high fever and lose a lot of weight. I go back to Hue, my brothers who are doctors also take me from one hospital to another but they can't find the disease.
One evening, I was unable to eat or drink, my mouth was bitter, I was sweating profusely, and I was extremely bored when the nurse in America called me and said: "I'm so sorry. I clearly called you that day and heard your voice, but you kept saying it was the wrong number, so I didn't know how to keep you.
I'm telling you, you don't have tuberculosis but a very strange bacteria that can only be cured in America, but you've lost that chance. I'm sure no country can cure you of that disease," Long Nhat recounted.
However, at that time, Long Nhat could not return to the US because when the immigration office banned the male singer from leaving the US, he disobeyed the order, so the US government banned him from returning to the US. Therefore, Long Nhat's chance to go to the US was gone.
“The nurse also told me not to return to the US because if I went there, I would be arrested for breaking the law. I was very sad lying in Hue. Then I received a phone call from the US from the show producer who had taken care of my paperwork. He said, "Oh my god, why didn't you tell me when you were going back to Vietnam? There are a lot of shows just starting now, why are you coming back to the country? If you get sick, you should get treatment here. Soon, a group of artists will be flying to the US. You should return to Saigon and go to the consulate to complete the procedures because your visa is only valid for one year." At that time, the thought of returning to the US flashed through my mind, but my family did not agree."
Despite this, Long Nhat was determined to return to the US and, thanks to luck, the male singer was able to get his papers back to the US. However, due to his poor health, he fainted upon arriving in the US and had to be hospitalized.
“Then an airport police officer who spoke Vietnamese fluently and was a fan of mine helped me return to San Jose hospital on a special route. After that, I was unconscious for a few days. When I woke up, I was in San Jose hospital. I stayed there for a month and then received outpatient treatment at my sister’s house with a nurse. Notably, I was treated by the same doctor from the previous time. I received treatment there for a year and then was able to return home,” the male singer recounted.
After being posted on YouTube for 1 day, Long Nhat's self-recorded clip quickly received more than 270,000 views. In the comments section, many people expressed surprise at the singer's incident, but did not forget to comment that his initial action of leaving the hospital was incorrect.
