Nghe An awards the 2020 "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Contest on Party Building

On the afternoon of March 31, the Organizing Committee of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Contest on Party Building in Nghe An province awarded prizes to authors and groups of authors with excellent works in 2020.

Attending the award ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Press Award on Party building in Nghe An province.

AWARDING 43 OUTSTANDING WORKS

The "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award of Nghe An province is a meaningful activity in propaganda and press work in the province, continuing to affirm the important position and role of Party building work, creating more attention from cadres, party members and the whole society for Party building work and building the political system of the province.

After 5 years of launching and implementing, the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Award on Party building in Nghe An province has affirmed its role, position, prestige and influence in disseminating Party building work.

The 5th "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award of Nghe An province in 2020 was launched at a time when the whole country entered the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 13th National Party Congress. This is also the year when many important events of the Party and the country took place. The press nationwide participated in propaganda before, during and after the Congress with a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm.

Responding to the Press Contest on the topic of Party building called "Golden Hammer and Sickle" launched by the Central Committee, under the direction of the Head of the Steering Committee of the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Press Award of Nghe An province, the Provincial Journalists Association coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee to issue an official dispatch to launch and develop the award rules, receiving positive responses from a large number of reporters, members, press agencies operating in Nghe An and participating collaborators.

With more than 100 works by authors and groups of authors submitted to the 2020 Nghe An Province "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Award, the Organizing Committee selected 79 valid works to participate in the contest.

The jury, in the spirit of democracy, responsibility, honesty and objectivity, unanimously selected 43 best works in the following categories: print, television, electronic, radio and photojournalism, to honor and award prizes. Including: 3 First prizes; 8 Second prizes; 13 Third prizes; 19 Encouragement prizes.

At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the best works, including 3 First prizes; 8 Second prizes; 13 Third prizes; 19 Encouragement prizes.

Nghe An Newspaper alone won 12 awards, including: 2 First prizes, 3 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 4 Encouragement prizes.

LAUNCHING THE 6TH GOLDEN HAMMER AND SICKLE JOURNALISM AWARD

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 2020 "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Award on Party Building, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong assessed: The works participating in the award are rich in topics and genres, closely following hot issues and outstanding events.

Many works promptly reflect issues that attract the attention of the whole society such as leadership and direction in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic; preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and floods, etc.

That demonstrates the deep concern, leadership and close direction of Party committees and organizations at all levels; the active participation of press and radio agencies in the province; especially the active participation of journalists, collaborators, and writers of all ages, backgrounds, professions, whether or not they are Party members.

Launching the response to participating in the 6th "Golden Hammer and Sickle" National Press Award on Party Building, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: The 6th "Golden Hammer and Sickle" National Press Award on Party Building is held in the context of the first year of implementing the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2021 - 2025); the year of election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 term.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, State agencies, the Fatherland Front and political and social organizations to lead, direct, coordinate and create conditions for journalists and collaborators to maximize their capacity to produce many excellent press works, contributing to widely disseminating the successful results and new contents in the documents of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, making cadres, party members and people deeply aware of the Party's major policies and orientations, unifying perceptions and actions, creating confidence, momentum, new motivation and excitement to bring the Resolution into life.

From there, it creates a driving force to improve the quality of propaganda for Party building work, contributing to building a clean and strong Party. Each press agency and each journalist needs to correctly understand the Party's policies on Party building and political system building, proactively and actively follow the grassroots practice to promptly reflect the results of Party building and rectification work in localities and units.

On that basis, discovering good practices and good models to commend and criticize shortcomings, violations, and existing limitations and problems, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also hopes that journalists and collaborators will increasingly improve their awareness, skills and professional ethics, constantly explore, innovate, diversify their expressions, and actively participate in the "Golden Hammer and Sickle" Journalism Award./.
