Nghe An launches first Community Foreign Language Club
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first time the Community Foreign Language Club has been deployed to equip people in tourist areas with foreign languages to communicate and introduce the local tourism potential.
On April 3, the provincial Department of Education and Training coordinated with Nam Dan and Con Cuong districts to organize the launching and opening ceremony of the Community Foreign Language Club. The ceremony took place in Kim Lien commune (Nam Dan) and Mon Son commune (Con Cuong).

The plan to pilot the model of "Community Foreign Language Club" at the Learning Centers of communes/wards/towns is implemented according to Decision No. 2445/QD-UBND dated July 23, 2020 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on approving the Project "Improving the quality of foreign language teaching and learning in educational institutions in Nghe An province for the period 2020-2025, with a vision to 2030".
This is also the first time a foreign language class has been held in the community with the main participants being people living in the two communes of Kim Lien and Mon Son.

Priority is given to people who directly participate in tourism activities and live near tourist attractions and students in educational facilities of the two communes, including students with difficult circumstances who do not have regular access to education.English.
According to the plan, there will be 2 classes per week for 2 groups of students, taught by teachers from schools and English centers in the area. Students participating in the classes do not have to pay tuition or only pay a part of the tuition fee.

Through this class, we aim to create a learning environment for foreign languages in general and English in particular for people in wards/communes/towns in the province with tourism activities, contributing to building a learning society in the context of globalization.
At the same time, it helps people in tourist areas to communicate, introduce and strongly develop unique cultural products and services to build a healthy cultural market, contributing to socio-economic development and promoting the image of the homeland, country and people.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh said: In the current context, Vietnamese society highly values training in life values, life skills and especially foreign languages to improve material and spiritual life.
Particularly for Nghe An, equipping local people with foreign languages is also the basis for development.tourism, introduce and promote the image of the homeland and people of Nghe An to international friends.

The establishment of the Community Foreign Language Club will also become a place to gather, unite and help members develop together. At the same time, it is a healthy and useful playground to help improve English, practice life skills and cooperate together.

The Department's leaders also hope that the implementation of the classes will be organized flexibly to create excitement for the students. The Department will also direct its departments and divisions to facilitate the centers so that the centers can promote their effectiveness and from there become a model for replication throughout the province.

At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education awarded 40 scholarships, each worth VND500,000, to primary and secondary school students of Kim Lien and Mon Son communes.
