Confessions of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue after more than 1 year as Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee

On the morning of April 3, at the Conference to Announce the Politburo's Decision to assign the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee to Minister of Finance Dinh Tien Dung, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue congratulated and expressed his confidence in his successor.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that he was truly fortunate to be trusted by the Central Committee and the Politburo to work in Hanoi, participating in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and holding the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee since February 7, 2020.

He affirmed that his time working at the Hanoi Party Committee has been 1 year and 56 days. Although the time is not long, the new National Assembly Chairman has grown remarkably, and has been immersed in the extremely rich and vibrant events of the Capital.

In addition to economic issues, as Secretary of the City Party Committee, Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue also directs issues of Party building, socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, taking care of people with meritorious services and many other tasks.

During that time of more than 1 year, the former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee also promptly visited and worked with 30/30 districts, towns and cities along with many departments and branches of the city.

Quoting the speech of General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong at the Hanoi Party Congress at the end of 2020, comrade Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized that Hanoi is the capital of a thousand years of culture, the face and heart of the whole country. The city was also recognized by UNESCO as a city for peace, and then recorded in the list of creative design cities in the network of creative cities worldwide.

"I feel more aware of the extremely important position and role of our capital, and love Hanoi more" - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue shared.

The comrade emphasized that the Hanoi Party Committee is the largest Party Committee in the country, with a long history and tradition, and has just celebrated its 91st anniversary. In terms of scale, the city Party Committee has 50 district-level Party Committees and is equivalent to more than 465,000 Party members.

The Hanoi Party Committee is always united, intelligent, brave, creative and exemplary. Whenever there is a challenge, no matter how difficult or harsh, the Hanoi Party Committee, army and people always overcome it.

He cited that in 2020, Hanoi faced three outbreaks of Covid-19, and as a political, administrative and cultural center, the risk to Hanoi was very high. 2020 was also a time when Hanoi had many changes in high-level personnel, the leadership of the City Party Committee, and the city changed greatly after the Congress.

"After the Congress, I am the only one left in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. I was a rookie and now I am a veteran. The city only has one Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee to be re-elected, the Chairman and 5 Vice Chairmen are all re-appointed" - said the former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

Faced with such difficulties, the leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee were united and unified, with the direct and regular leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat and the support of ministries and branches.

Regarding Hanoi's 2021 budget collection situation so far, comrade Vuong Dinh Hue said that it has reached about 30% of the set plan, with districts like Thuong Tin having just finished the first quarter having collected about 83% of the estimated budget.

"Last year, the Prime Minister asked Hanoi if it had made any advance payments. We reported that we had not made any payments" - comrade Vuong Dinh Hue shared.

The heart has been, is and will be complete with the Capital

Having achieved such results, comrade Vuong Dinh Hue said he was extremely grateful to the leaders of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, the Party Executive Committee, and all levels, sectors, and localities for helping Hanoi overcome difficulties and complete assigned tasks.

Congratulating the new Secretary of the City Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung on his return to Hanoi, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue believes that comrade Dinh Tien Dung and the City Party Executive Committee will continue the precious tradition of bravery, creativity, and excellently complete the assigned tasks.

Comrade Vuong Dinh Hue said, during the working process, if there is any problem that the Secretary wants to do but has not been able to do, or sometimes due to the urgency, "the Secretary's volume is larger than usual", he hopes that cadres at all levels from the city to the grassroots will sympathize and share.

He also emphasized that central agencies will try to take care of Hanoi and pay more attention to Hanoi.

"I will continue to be a citizen of Hanoi. No matter what position I hold or where I work, my heart and affection have been, are and will always be with our Capital," said National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
