Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspects election preparations in Quynh Luu

On the afternoon of April 13, comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and the working delegation of Nghe An province inspected the preparation for the election of XV National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in Quynh Luu district.

Also attending were members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Le Van Giap - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

CREATE CONSENSUS AMONG THE PEOPLE

Quynh Luu district has established 14 election committees in 14 constituencies for the election of district People's Council delegates for the 20th term, 2021 - 2026. It has directed 33 communes and towns to establish 253 election committees for commune-level People's Council delegates, including 2,277 members.

At the second consultation, the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee made a preliminary list of 73 candidates and 39 people elected as delegates to the District People's Council for the 20th term, 2021 - 2026. The number of people recommended to run for the People's Council at the commune level is 1,622 people. Currently, the district is preparing the next steps to conduct the third consultation conference.

The organization of collecting voters' opinions at the place of residence for candidates was organized systematically and in accordance with the procedures. The total number of people who had to collect voters' opinions at the place of residence was 82 people in 27 communes and towns; of which 2 were candidates for National Assembly deputies; 7 were candidates for the 18th Provincial People's Council; and 73 were candidates for the District People's Council. Through synthesis, basically, voters' opinions were positive and highly trusted those whose opinions were collected.

Up to now, communes and towns have made lists of voters participating in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term in 259 areas with a total of 212,427 people. At the same time, they have done a good job of information and propaganda to serve the election.

Quynh Luu District Party Secretary Hoang Danh Lai said that in implementing the election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, Quynh Luu district has closely followed the direction of the provincial level, seriously and promptly organized the implementation to meet the requirements of the election work; proactively grasped the forecast situation, directed the election committee, relevant departments and branches to resolve outstanding issues occurring in the area.

PROACTIVELY HANDLING SITUATIONS THAT ARISE

After conducting a field inspection at Quynh Doi commune and listening to the report of the Quynh Luu district Election Committee, members of the provincial working delegation discussed and clarified a number of contents related to the election preparation work such as: Candidate standards; reviewing and ensuring the balance according to regulations; ensuring security and order; handling petitions, complaints and denunciations; issuing documents directing and guiding the election, etc.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong highly appreciated the initial results in implementing the election work of Quynh Luu district.

Accordingly, the election preparation work was carried out by the district in accordance with schedule and law; ensuring the leadership of the Party.

The preparation of documents and papers by the District Election Committee was carried out seriously; the steps of the election work were ensured to be on schedule to meet the requirements of the superiors. The personnel work was carried out systematically, ensuring the required proportions and structures according to regulations. In particular, the results of the implementation of the steps in the election work created high consensus among the people.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Election Committee of Quynh Luu district to absorb the comments and suggestions of the members of the inspection team; continue to monitor and closely follow the grassroots, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles.

District and commune election committees need to strengthen propaganda work, especially continuing to promote the role of mass organizations in propagating to union members and members, actively participating in the election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen the inspection work of the District Election Committee for the commune level; encourage voters, especially voters in coastal areas, to change their sea travel schedules to participate in the election with the highest rate; strengthen the inspection of the posting of candidate lists, minimizing errors.

At the same time, organize training and instruct grassroots cadres to improve their professional skills in implementing election work, raise vigilance and not be subjective in performing tasks; ensure security, order and safety for election work in communes and towns.

In particular, Quynh Luu district needs to proactively grasp the situation and emerging situations, promptly detect, prevent, and combat signs of sabotage; proactively handle petitions and emerging situations in the coming time.
