90-year journey on historical land
(Baonghean.vn) - 90 years ago, in Muong Qua area (now Mon Son and Luc Da communes) of Con Cuong district, a major event took place in political and social life, which was the birth of Mon Son Party Cell - the first Party Cell in the Western region of Nghe An.

According to historical documents, in 1931, the movementNghe Tinh Sovietoppressed, the French colonialists carried out a policy of terror in an attempt to extinguish the revolutionary flame of the people. Many party members were sacrificed and arrested, the revolutionary movement entered a period of decline, our Party had to retreat into secret activities.
To ensure forces and maintain revolutionary bases, the Central Region Party Committee decided to expand its scope of activities to the mountainous districts of Nghe An and sent comrades: Le Xuan Dao (belonging to the Regional Party Committee), Nguyen Huu Binh (Nghe An Provincial Party Committee), Le Manh Duyet (Anh Son District Party Committee) to the Muong Qua - Mon Son area to coordinate activities and build the movement.

From the locationAnh Son district, the comrades were sent by the Central Region Party Committee to carry out the mission of crossing mountains and forests to the villages along the banks of the Giang River, behind the Pu Qua range. Here, the comrades contacted, made friends and enlightened Vi Van Khang - an educated Thai ethnic youth who joined the organization.
Comrade Vi Van Khang continued to mobilize and enlighten comrades Vi Van Hanh, Vi Van Quy, and Vi Van Lam, who were young people with education and patriotism. The young people in Muong Qua mobilized and gathered the people to unite to fight against oppression and maintain peace in the village...

In March 1931, the communists and radical youths in Muong Qua led the people to fight against the tyrants and won victory. About a month later, in mid-April 1931, at the private home of comrade Vi Van Khang in Thai Hoa village, the Party CellMon Sonwas officially established, comrade Vi Van Khang was assigned as Secretary. The Party cell initially consisted of 5 party members: Vi Van Khang, Vi Van Hanh, Vi Van Quy, Tran Ngan, Le Manh Duyet; later, comrade Vi Van Lam was admitted.
From here, the private home of comrade Vi Van Khang became a meeting place, a place to hide cadres and print documents to serve the revolutionary struggle. The Mon Son Party cell, as soon as it was established, immediately began the task of leading the revolutionary struggle: printing propaganda documents, establishing the Red Peasant Association and Red Self-Defense Organization to gather and enlighten the fighting spirit of the people, gradually creating a spread of the movement throughout the villages and hamlets of Western Nghe An.
From July to August 1945, when the revolutionary movement was boiling across the country, the opportunity to seize power was ripe, the Mon Son Party Cell decided to lead the masses to rise up to punish the oppressors and exploiters, and seize power for the revolution.

On those historic autumn days, on the Con Chua banyan tree, the red hammer and sickle flag fluttered like a signal to gather people from all the villages and hamlets of Muong Qua. Under the banyan tree, hundreds of people protested, marched to the houses of the landlords and the chief of the village to collect rice and money to distribute to the poor.
Under the leadership of the Party Cell, the revolutionary movement of the people of Muong Qua in particular and Con Cuong district in general has won victory. Together with the whole country, the people of Con Cuong share the joy of independence day, put their trust in and look forward to future life.
Towards the economic and social center of the Southwest region
After 90 years, the landMuong Quaand Con Cuong district today has changed a lot, people's lives have improved a lot. The Con Chua banyan tree and Mr. Vi Van Khang's private house were recognized as revolutionary historical relics. In particular, in 1996, the people of Mon Son commune were honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the President.
Every year, the Mon Son - Muong Qua Festival is held to commemorate the revolutionary soldiers and to arouse pride in the young generation of the homeland. The mountains, forests, Giang River and the beautiful Muong Qua village have long become ideal destinations for tourists from near and far. Con Cuong District is also gradually affirming its brand in the process of developing eco-tourism and community tourism, attracting more and more tourists to visit and experience.

In particular, in the period 2015 - 2020,Con Cuong districtThere have been quite comprehensive and synchronous changes in socio-economy, national defense - security, Party building and political system. Average economic growth reached 9.41%; economic structure shifted in the right direction. Of which, agriculture and forestry accounted for 40.23%; industry - construction 15.67%; trade - services 44.1%.
The average income in 2020 is estimated to reach more than 30 million VND/person/year. The district has attracted businesses to participate in the production and processing of medicinal herbs, forming products from oranges (orange wine, orange soap, orange candy); leaf yeast wine, and jar wine. Forest management, protection, planting and care continue to prove effective, with more than 12,300 hectares of raw material forests, contributing to increasing forest coverage to 86%, contributing to people's livelihoods.

Currently, the routes from National Highway 7A to the HospitalSouthwest; Bong Khe to Binh Chuan; Mau Duc to Thach Ngan have been completed, meeting the convenient travel needs of the people. At the same time, 7 suspension bridges for people and 6 rigid bridges, 38 km of border patrol route have also just been completed, promoting trade and circulation of goods...
The district also attracts investment projects to develop trade - service and tourism infrastructure. Ethnic minorities in the area have had many changes in awareness and actions in transforming the economic development model effectively towards goods and clean production practices. The poverty rate of the district has decreased from 32.01% (in 2015) to 14.18% (in 2020), material and spiritual life, quality of human resources have been improved, social issues have been focused on; political security, social order and safety have been maintained...

These days, the people of Muong Qua and the entire Con Cuong district are eagerly welcoming the 90th anniversary of its founding.Party cellMon Son. It was even more joyful when the Provincial People's Committee decided to combine the celebration of the founding day of the Mon Son Party Cell and the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in Mon Son Commune. The celebration program aims to contribute to preserving cultural identity, consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, improving the cultural and spiritual life of ethnic people and promoting and introducing the tourism potential of Western Nghe An.

In particular, on the night of April 17, there will be an art program with the participation of the mass art troupes of Con Cuong, Anh Son, Tuong Duong, Ky Son and Tan Ky districts.
