Nghe An stops beach tourism festival activities to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung - Head of the Steering Committee decided to stop the beach tourism festival activities in Cua Lo Town and Quynh Luu District.
On the afternoon of April 26, the Standing Committee of the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee held a meeting to implement the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 541/CD-TTg on strengthening the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control and Official Dispatch No. 540/CD-TTg on strengthening the management of organizing flights to bring people entering Vietnam and agreeing on a number of urgent measures to be implemented in the area.

THE RISK OF THE EPIDEMIC INVASING INTO NGHE AN IS VERY HIGH
According to the Department of Health's report, as of 11:00 a.m. on April 26, 2021, the world recorded over 147 million cases and over 3.1 million deaths due to Covid-19 in 221 countries and territories.
In Asia, India is struggling to contain the second wave of Covid-19. The epidemic situation in Southeast Asian countries is getting more complicated, especially in the past 7 days in Cambodia, where 3,586 new cases have been recorded.;Thailand recorded 13,108 cases and Laos recorded 265 new cases.

In Vietnam, as of 6:00 a.m. on April 26, 2021, the total cumulative number of positive cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Vietnam is 2,846, of which 2,516 cases have been discharged from hospital.
As for Nghe An, as of 6:00 p.m. on April 26, 2021, the province has quarantined and monitored the health of 76,319 cases. Of which, Nghe An is currently managing and quarantined 588 cases. Of which, 496 citizens returning from Japan and South Korea are quarantined in Con Cuong and Cua Lo, 3 Covid-19 patients were quarantined immediately after entering the country, and are currently in stable health.
The health sector has taken 43,675 samples for Covid-19 testing; at the same time, it has developed a plan to deploy Covid-19 vaccination in Nghe An in 2021.
As of 6:00 p.m. on April 25, 2021, the whole province had vaccinated 6,363 cases against Covid-19.

At the meeting, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control all agreed that the risk of Covid-19 entering Nghe An is very high. Because currently, the Covid-19 epidemic in Laos is very complicated, while Nghe An has a large number of citizens living here, plus the province has a common border with Laos of more than 468km.
The members also requested the Border Guard Command to strengthen strict management on the border to completely prevent illegal entry and exit. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long said that it is necessary to stop the opening activities of the beach tourism season in Cua Lo town and Quynh Luu district. At the same time, prepare scenarios and quarantine facilities to receive citizens returning from Laos for quarantine according to regulations.

TEMPORARILY SUSPEND SEA TOURISM FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control assessed that the results of Covid-19 prevention and control in the province up to this point were serious and effective. The spirit and responsibility of key forces such as Health, Military, Police, and Border Guards were all high, proactively and promptly handling arising situations.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the current Covid-19 epidemic situation in the world as well as in the country is very complicated. Therefore, Nghe An province cannot be subjective, negligent, or lose vigilance in the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic.
In the spirit of the two telegrams just issued by the Prime Minister, the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control requested that immediately after the meeting, the Steering Committee issue documents to guide sectors, localities and people to seriously and fully implement the contents of the Prime Minister's telegram on strengthening the implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control.

In particular, the head of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that it is necessary to strictly implement epidemic prevention and control measures according to the Ministry of Health's 5K guidelines and procedures, especially mandatory mask wearing in public places, at events with large crowds, on public transport, medical facilities, schools, etc. First of all, members of the steering committee, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers at agencies and units across the province must strictly implement them to set an example.
Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on continuing to limit unnecessary events and activities with large crowds; in case of organization, strictly implement safety measures, especially wearing masks, disinfecting... according to regulations, the Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control decided to stop all activities with large crowds during the holidays such as: Cua Lo Tourism Festival, Quynh Sea Tourism Festival, cultural and sports activities.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also requested the health sector to properly implement the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control process at medical examination and treatment facilities; complete Covid-19 vaccination on time; proactively update and complete plans to be ready to respond to all epidemic situations, and prepare locations to treat infected cases.

In addition, all levels and sectors need to strengthen communication work, recommending people and tourists to strictly implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with regulations to ensure maximum safety. Functional forces regularly propagate and remind to raise people's awareness.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung also requested that sectors and localities properly organize quarantine for 469 citizens returning from South Korea and Japan in accordance with the spirit of Official Dispatch No. 540/CD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
Emphasizing the risk of the epidemic entering Nghe An through the border, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Provincial Border Guard force to strictly control workers entering from Laos, especially those entering illegally. At the same time, increase forces at 33 checkpoints, increase patrols to ensure tight border lines, promptly prevent illegal entry cases, and quarantine returning citizens according to regulations.

An important issue that Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung noted for sectors and localities is to be on guard in case people from other localities are infected in Nghe An. The health sector has strengthened the work of screening, monitoring, detecting, isolating and treating Covid-19 for patients and suspected Covid-19 cases in the area according to regulations.
In particular, raise people's awareness in detecting cases with factors related to the epidemic to ensure that there are no cases of infection in the community in the province.
