Morning of May 8, 15 more positive cases; Covid-19 spreads to 19 provinces and cities
(Baonghean.vn) - The Ministry of Health on the morning of May 8 recorded 15 positive cases of nCoV in the country, including 1 case in Hanoi and 14 cases in Bac Ninh.
15 new cases were recorded from number 3138 to 3152. Thus, the total number of community infections from April 27 to now is 176, recorded in 19 provinces and cities.
Specifically, Hanoi has 72 cases (of which 41 are in the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases, 11 are in the K Hospital), Vinh Phuc and Bac Ninh both have 26, Ha Nam has 15, Da Nang has 10, Hung Yen has 8, Thai Binh has 5, Hai Duong has 3, Ho Chi Minh City, Yen Bai, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Dong Nai, Lang Son, Thanh Hoa, Dien Bien, Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho each has 1.

As of 6:00 a.m. on May 8, Vietnam had a total of 1,746 domestically transmitted Covid-19 cases, of which 176 new cases have been recorded since April 27.
The Ministry of Health has just sent a telegram to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities; Directors of the Department of Health, and Heads of medical examination and treatment facilities, requesting to raise the highest level of epidemic prevention warning and prepare response plans in case of cases entering hospitals. The telegram clearly stated that currently, the Covid-19 epidemic is developing very seriously, many provinces have had the epidemic, some hospitals have had patients, family members and medical staff infected with Covid-19, including the "super infectious" virus variant strain from the UK and India, with a very high risk of spreading the epidemic.
Localities with cases in the community need to proactively test all medical staff, patients, and caregivers of long-term patients.
As of the afternoon of May 7, there were 9 hospitals nationwide implementing medical isolation to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. Of which,Nghe An has Quynh Lap Central Dermatology and Leprosy Hospital.
