Affirming the great contributions of comrade Phung Chi Kien to the Vietnamese revolution
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Comrade Phung Chi Kien's birth, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Central Propaganda Department, and Nghe An Provincial Party Committee jointly organized the scientific seminar: "Comrade Phung Chi Kien with the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An".
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council attended and chaired the workshop. Co-chairs included: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee; Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Le Van Loi - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.
The workshop was held online at two locations: Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Nghe An province. At Nghe An location, there were the following comrades attending: Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee...
GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE VIETNAMESE REVOLUTIONARY CAUSE
The workshop aimed to review the noble revolutionary life of the senior communist soldier who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, and at the same time expressed deep gratitude for his great contributions to the Vietnamese revolution and his homeland Nghe An.

In his opening speech and introduction to the workshop, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council said that throughout his life of revolutionary activities, Comrade Phung Chi Kien overcame all hardships and dangers to excellently complete the assigned tasks.
Operating in secret, dangerous and challenging circumstances, he remained steadfast in his chosen goals, ideals and path, completely loyal to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, setting a shining example of the steadfast and indomitable spirit of a communist.
With 16 years of continuous revolutionary activities, from the time he was enlightened about the ideal of fighting for national liberation until his last breath, he made great contributions to the Vietnamese revolutionary cause.

According to Professor Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, the image of comrade Phung Chi Kien, despite being ambushed and seriously wounded by the enemy, still resolutely stayed behind to block the enemy so that his comrades could retreat, steadfastly fighting until his last breath in front of the enemy's guns is a profound symbol of the bravery, spirit and noble sentiments of a communist soldier.
Although he has passed away, his noble revolutionary life, his activities and great contributions will live forever in the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people, and will forever be a shining example of revolutionary morality for generations of cadres and party members to study and follow.
In his welcoming speech at the workshop, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee affirmed that with 40 years of age and many years of continuous revolutionary activities, comrade Phung Chi Kien is a typical revolutionary soldier of the Party; an outstanding son of Nghe An homeland, a shining example of revolutionary ethics, a lifelong struggle and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, the happiness of the people; a spirit of diligence, perseverance in studying, always upholding responsibility before the Party, the nation, the communist movement and international workers, fighting bravely, proudly, and unyieldingly before the enemy.

More than 35 speeches by Party and State leaders, representatives of central agencies, departments, ministries, branches, unions, some localities and Nghe An province - the hometown of comrade Phung Chi Kien and many scientists have clarified the contributions and dedication of comrade Phung Chi Kien in various fields, focusing on the following contents: From a patriotic youth to one of the first generation of Party members; a politician and military man; an example of a communist who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, brave and indomitable before the enemy; an outstanding son of his hometown Nghe An.

Affirming the dedication and contributions of Comrade Phung Chi Kien - an example of a communist who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the discussions all affirmed: He always focused on cultivating and training revolutionary ethics, upholding the spirit of loyalty to the country, to the Party, filial piety to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the Fatherland, excellently completing all assigned tasks, upholding the pure spirit of proletarian internationalism.
Speaking at the workshop with the theme: "Nghe An Party Committee and People study and follow the example of Comrade Phung Chi Kien", Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong emphasized that the revolutionary life of Comrade Phung Chi Kien is a shining example for cadres, Party members and People of Nghe An to study and follow.

Learn from comrade Phung Chi Kien about patriotism, love for the people, lifelong struggle and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people, have a revolutionary optimism, do not yield to the enemy; learn the spirit of learning, perseverance, hard work, always closely combine theory and practice; learn the spirit of responsibility before the Party and the nation, maintain a sense of organization and discipline, strictly comply with the Party's policies.
Honored and proud to be the homeland of many revolutionary veterans, the homeland of comrade Phung Chi Kien, the Party Committee and People of Nghe An are always deeply aware of their responsibility in preserving, inheriting and promoting the revolutionary achievements of previous generations. Throughout the revolutionary process under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Nghe An has persevered in overcoming difficulties and achieved many important achievements, contributing with the people of the whole country to gain glorious victories in the revolution to liberate the nation, unify the Fatherland, and build an increasingly rich and civilized country.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland, studying and following the example of comrade Phung Chi Kien, the Party Committee and People of Nghe An vow to unite with the spirit of innovation and creativity, turning the will of not accepting slavery of our ancestors into the aspiration to rise up, develop quickly and sustainably, striving to become a well-off province in the Northern region by 2025, and a well-off province in the whole country by 2030.

Leaders of Nghe An province offer flowers to commemorate comrade Phung Chi Kien
(Baonghean.vn) - Comrade Phung Chi Kien is a typical senior leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, an outstanding son of his homeland Nghe An.
Comrade Phung Chi Kien's real name is Nguyen Vi, born on May 18, 1901, in a farmer family in My Quan Thuong village, now Dien Yen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province.
- In 1926, he participated in revolutionary activities and was sent to Guangzhou (China) to attend a political training class directly trained by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc.
- In December 1930, he was admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party.
- In March 1935, the First National Congress of the Party was held in Macau (China), comrade Phung Chi Kien was elected to the Party Central Committee and appointed to the Party Standing Committee.
- On January 28, 1941, comrade Phung Chi Kien and leader Nguyen Ai Quoc returned to Pac Bo, Cao Bang province, to participate in directing the revolution.
- In September 1940, the Bac Son uprising broke out, causing a great echo throughout the country, forcing the French colonialists to try to find ways to deal with it. At the end of June 1941, they launched a large-scale sweep into our revolutionary base to arrest Party leaders, destroy the headquarters of the Viet Minh and the newly formed revolutionary armed forces. Comrade Phung Chi Kien commanded the Bac Son National Salvation Army to fight and destroy several large sweeps by the French.
- On August 19, 1941, the army led by comrade Phung Chi Kien and Luong Van Tri (Standing Committee member of the Northern Regional Party Committee) was ambushed by the enemy while passing through Po Kep (Na Ri district, Bac Kan), but the unit escaped. On August 21, the unit was ambushed again in Bang Duc commune on the way to Cao Bang. Although seriously wounded, comrade Phung Chi Kien still held his gun tightly, shooting at the enemy to help his comrades escape the encirclement. After firing his last bullet, he fell into the enemy's hands.
- On August 22, 1941, the enemy was cowardly and barbaric when they beheaded the comrade and planted his head at the head of Ngan Son bridge in order to intimidate the local cadres and people.
- In November 2003, the Party and Government issued a decision to recognize comrade Phung Chi Kien as a former member of the Party Central Committee (term I), a military leader with the rank of general, and a martyr who died heroically in combat.
