Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council inspects election work in Nghia Dan district

Before working with the People's Committee of Nghia Dan town, comrade Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and the working delegation directly inspected the election preparation work at the polling stations of the communes: Nghia Loc and Nghia Long.

Speaking directly with the polling teams, Comrade Cao Thi Hien highly appreciated the local preparations and reminded the polling teams to fully prepare scenarios to respond to possible situations; arrange and set up tables and ballot boxes according to instructions to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

According to the report of the Nghia Dan District Election Committee, implementing the steps of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, by May 3, 2021, the district had completed the posting of the official list and brief biographies of candidates for the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term at 138 polling stations in the area.

After the 3rd Consultative Conference, the District Fatherland Front Committee agreed to establish an official list of 56 candidates for the District People's Council and 891 candidates for the People's Council at the commune and town levels. Up to this point, Nghia Dan district has reviewed and established a list of 97,571 voters.

The Election Committee of Nghia Dan district and communes and towns have reviewed and prepared materials and documents for the election such as: seals, ballot boxes, voter cards, ballots, etc. In particular, Nghia Dan district will conduct vote counting by computer.

In addition, information and propaganda work is also promoted by districts and communes to help people understand their rights and obligations and participate in voting at the highest rate.

The Nghia Dan District Election Commission has also developed plans and scenarios to ensure security and order, especially to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic. Voter contact, election campaigning, election training and handling of complaints and denunciations related to the election have been carried out seriously.

Concluding the inspection session, Comrade Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the People's Committees of districts, communes and towns; at the same time, paid attention to reviewing voters' aspirations, promptly resolving them, creating consensus among the people; promptly overcoming the shortcomings in the first phase.

Considering that there is not much time left until the election day, while the epidemic situation is increasingly complicated and unpredictable, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council noted that the Steering Committee, the Election Committee of Nghia Dan district and communes and towns need to continue to review and correct errors in making the voter list; continue to review and make voter lists for those who have just returned to their localities.

To ensure the rights of candidates, help voters and people grasp the candidates' biographies and action programs, Nghia Dan district needs to strengthen propaganda work; continue to review facilities and materials at polling stations; strictly manage ballots and seals; organize election training for members of the election team to handle arising situations well, paying special attention to special areas.

The district People's Committee also needs to direct the election teams to ensure security and order, to avoid bad situations; to organize and guide people on how to vote and when to vote to ensure good work in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. The district also needs to organize vote counting by computer to ensure compliance with regulations, achieving a high voter turnout rate./.
