Implementing the election inspection program, on the morning of May 19, the working delegation of the Provincial Election Committee led by Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee conducted an inspection in Vinh city.

Also participating in the inspection delegation were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies Bloc and Phan Duc Dong - Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; representatives of the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Finance, Department of Health, Provincial Police, and Provincial Military Command.

Through the inspection, in addition to highly appreciating the methodical direction and implementation of the units, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee noted that the election teams need to assign specific tasks to members to ensure strict, scientific and legal management on election day.

Working with the City Election Committee, the provincial inspection team acknowledged that the implementation of election procedures in the city in the past time has been in accordance with the law.

The total number of candidates for the 22nd term of Vinh City People's Council, 2021-2026, officially finalized for election is 56 people; of which the proportion is female 42.8%; young 32.1%; non-Party 14.3%; religious 3.6%.

The total number of candidates for the People's Council at the commune level whose official list is finalized for election is 1,003 people; of which, 39.3% are female; 31.5% are young; 21.3% are non-Party members; and 2.5% are religious.

In the process of directing and implementing election preparation work, the city has been proactive and flexible in each locality, each specific situation, condition and circumstance.

Currently, in the area, many students from schools are returning to the area to study online, so the city has promptly reviewed and added them to the voter list according to regulations.

The city has proactively activated the Covid-19 prevention and control system throughout the area, investing in and purchasing facilities and equipment to ensure epidemic prevention and control; focusing on plans to ensure epidemic prevention and control at voting areas on election day, May 23.

The city also proactively grasped the situation, promptly intervened to handle the situation, and ensured security, social order and safety for the election day. The city conducted the vote counting using software and prepared other options.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee emphasized: The decisive factor for the success of the election is that the election day ends safely with a high voter turnout rate.

Therefore, the Steering Committee and the City Election Committee need to direct members to closely follow and direct the grassroots, focusing on the voting areas and the key election teams; both to guide and assist, and to promptly resolve difficulties, problems and limitations.

Along with that is to increase propaganda so that people are responsible for voting at a high rate, election day is truly a festival for all people.

Proactively develop plans and properly and fully implement requirements for Covid-19 prevention and control and ensure security, order and safety at polling stations on election day.
