Morning of May 22: 20 more cases; one person infected with Covid-19 after 4 negative tests

(Baonghean.vn) - Among the cases announced this morning, there was a case that tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 after 4 previous negative test results.

The Ministry of Health's morning bulletin on May 22 said that there were 20 more domestic Covid-19 cases recorded in 4 localities: Bac Giang (11 cases); Bac Ninh (3 cases); Thai Binh (1 case); Hai Duong (4 cases) and Dien Bien (1 case). Vietnam currently has 4,961 patients, of which 3,482 cases were recorded domestically and 1,479 were imported. The number of new cases from April 27 to now: 1,912 cases.

Specifically, the positive case was identified as Mr. PVN (84 years old, residing in Tra Vy Bac village, Vu Cong commune, Kien Xuong district, Thai Binh). Mr. N. is the biological father of patient 3,750, who has been quarantined at Thai Binh Lung Hospital since May 8.

From April 27 to May 5, Mr. N. was treated in room H910, Geriatrics Department of Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital. During the quarantine and health monitoring period at Thai Binh Lung Hospital, his samples were taken for testing 5 times.

Of which, from May 6 to 19, samples were taken for testing 4 times, all of which were negative for SARS-CoV-2. The fifth sample taken on May 21 was positive for SARS-CoV-2.
