For the past several decades, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh has devoted all his love to SLNA. Since the subsidy period, Mr. Thanh has made great contributions to Nghe An football.
A series of famous generations of Nghe An players during this period also had a significant mark of “Khong Minh of Nghe An”. The achievement of never falling down to the First Division for 2 decades of V.League also had a significant contribution from Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh.
However, as Mr. Thanh shared, the flow of time and the changes in football force people to make timely decisions. That is the reason why he wants to say goodbye to the Nghe An football team.

He shared: “The team did not achieve good results and as the head of the club, I have to take responsibility for what has happened. The culture of resignation is necessary at this time, so I decided to resign even though in reality I still have a lot of affection for the club and the players,” Mr. Thanh said.
In fact, since returning to Nghe An from Hanoi after a period of working for Mr. Kien, Mr. Thanh is considered to no longer be suitable for the development trend of modern football as age is a major obstacle, affecting the ability to keep up with the increasingly rapid and strong development of football management.
In the past month, Song Lam Nghe An has also had a very strong transformation. They have a new sponsor, changing the structure of the upper management. Thanks to this transformation, SLNA was able to successfully retain Phan Van Duc with a contract worth up to tens of billions of VND.
