"What is the problem with empires? It seems to them that they are so powerful that they can afford to make small mistakes and errors - we will buy these things, we will scare this country, we will agree to these things... But the number of problems is increasing - and the time has come when they can no longer be dealt with," the Russian president said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), referring to the US policy of building relations with other countries.

“And the United States, with its confident stride, its confident gait, its firm step, is following the Soviet path,” he added, noting that he himself was born in the Soviet Union.
