General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were comrades in the Secretariat and the National Steering Committee on Prevention and Control ofCovid-19 epidemic, leaders of relevant departments, ministries and branches.

To date, the country has had over 9,000 C-19 cases, of which nearly 4,000 are being treated, and 55 have died. Our country is dealing with the fourth outbreak of the epidemic with the largest scale and spread ever, causing many difficulties for epidemic prevention and control work and socio-economic activities.

Notably, some Party committees, authorities and a part of the people are still negligent, subjective and lose vigilance in epidemic prevention and control work.

After listening to the Government Party Committee's report on the Covid-19 epidemic situation, tasks and solutions in the coming time, and opinions of representatives of relevant agencies, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong stated that since the beginning of 2020, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, the leaders of the Party, the State, and the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control have proactively directed closely and resolutely, mobilized the entire political system to participate and implemented strong and active measures to prevent the epidemic.

Faced with increasingly complex and unpredictable developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Politburo and the Secretariat continue to issue fundamental instructions to prevent and control the pandemic more effectively in the coming time.

"That shows that our work is quite early, timely, continuous, and not lax... Recently, we have been quite sensitive, proactive, and have taken many drastic, timely, and effective measures. The good thing is that the entire political system and the entire population have supported, arousing the spirit of patriotism and the tradition of mutual love and support. The images of the elderly and children supporting, the units contributing, the Fatherland Front standing up to call on the entire population to respond, first of all, the sentiment of "Love others as you love yourself," "A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full."

The General Secretary praised the solidarity and benevolence that demonstrate the good nature, tradition of patriotism and mutual support of our people, thereby drawing more lessons on epidemic prevention and control, while maintaining and promoting production and business activities, ensuring social security and safety; ensuring the success of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

In the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, all sectors and levels have paid attention to taking care of people's lives, especially in epidemic areas that have to be quarantined; initially removing some mechanisms on vaccine production and purchase, establishing a Covid-19 Vaccine Fund, attracting positive responses from a large number of people and businesses in epidemic prevention and control.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong requested the entire political system to focus on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic with the spirit of "fighting the pandemic like fighting the enemy"; continue to closely direct and implement strong, drastic, flexible and effective solutions, especially in localities with large outbreaks to promptly prevent and repel the epidemic.

In the coming time, the situation is forecast to continue to develop very complicatedly and unpredictably. To be more proactive in epidemic prevention and control, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong requested that we absolutely must not be subjective, negligent, lose vigilance, or be satisfied with the initial results achieved, and prevent the epidemic from spreading and breaking out in the community; proactively develop plans and scenarios to promptly respond to all situations.

The Government Party Committee focuses on directing and mobilizing resources to accelerate the purchase and injection of vaccines, while continuing to support and promote domestic vaccine research and development activities; promoting international cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, and vaccine supply, especially with traditional partners and friends with potential in medical research and application in the field of vaccine production and supply; reviewing and promptly removing legal obstacles related to vaccine selection and purchase.

The General Secretary noted that it is necessary to continue to strictly control immigration in the context of the current outbreak. Authorities need to ensure security and safety in important areas, locations, and production areas with a high concentration of workers, and promptly prevent and stop risks of disease transmission and loss of security and order.

All levels and sectors strengthen leadership, direction and implementation of socio-economic development solutions, in the spirit of developing safe production, proactively preventing and effectively fighting the epidemic at each facility, especially industrial parks and crowded places./.
