Ky Son: Heavy rain collapsed many houses, authorities evacuated people to avoid floods

(Baonghean.vn) - Heavy rains caused by storm No. 2 have seriously affected many villages in the border district of Ky Son: large rocks rolled down houses, subsidence broke roofs, house floors... Many households had to evacuate to avoid floods.

As a result, cracks appeared on a hill in Nam Tien 2 village, Bao Nam commune. To ensure safety, on June 12, Bao Nam commune authorities evacuated households to Nam Tien village kindergarten to avoid the flood.

In Muong Ai commune, heavy rain caused the Nam Tip river to rise, washing away the embankment of Muong Ai Primary School. In My Ly commune, the rising water level of Nam Non river caused the land of Mr. Vi Van Hoa's family (Yen Hoa village) to sink, the 24m long foundation embankment washed away, and the 24m long, 4m wide corrugated iron roof collapsed. Immediately after the incident, the authorities mobilized the villagers to focus on repairing and dismantling the collapsed corrugated iron roof.

In Pha Danh commune, heavy rains have severely affected households due to land subsidence. The most damaged is the family of Mr. Xeo Van Pan, who had to demolish their entire house. Two other affected households are Pit Van Hoa (Pha Khao village) and Cut Van Hao (Kim Da village), who also had to evacuate urgently when the landslide caused the foundation of their house to crack, which is extremely dangerous.
