Online launch of Action Month for Children
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 17, the Provincial People's Committee organized an online launching ceremony for the Month of Action for Children 2021.
Attending the launching ceremony at the main bridge were comrades: Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Doan Hong Vu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and related departments, branches and sectors.

This year's Action Month for Children has the theme "Joining hands to ensure the implementation of children's rights, protecting children in natural disasters and epidemics" to promote the dissemination of legal policies on children, prevention of child abuse, injuries, and drowning. Raising awareness and responsibility of agencies, units, schools, communities, families and each individual in implementing children's rights, protecting children in natural disasters and epidemics, ensuring children are protected, cared for and educated for comprehensive development.
At the same time, with this message, through the Action Month, the whole society will join hands to support children in especially difficult communes of ethnic minorities, mountainous areas, children in especially difficult circumstances; children affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in localities; promptly detect and strictly handle cases of child abuse and violence; update and grasp the situation of children who died due to accidents, drowning, and were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to have timely solutions and support.
The whole province has 875,834 children, of which 140,387 are children in special and difficult circumstances, accounting for 16%, including: Children in special circumstances: 13,469 children; children at risk of falling into special circumstances: 126,918 children.
By 2020: The situation of early marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas still has 162 children;
Detected, investigated, and clarified 17 cases, 25 subjects related to 24 children being bought and sold, including women selling fetuses;
Number of juveniles violating the law: 134 cases/162 people; number of juveniles with decisions to enter reformatory schools: 42 people.
From 2019 to April 30, 2021, the whole province had 81 cases/93 defendants/85 child victims; 119 cases of children drowning, 130 children died from drowning.

At the launching ceremony, Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: All levels of sectors and localities need to base on the developments and situation of Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control to guide and organize Children's Forums, propaganda activities, training on preventing child abuse, drowning accidents, ensuring safety for children in natural disasters and epidemics appropriately and in accordance with regulations.

The Youth Union bases mobilize members to join forces in the area to install danger signs at ponds, lakes, rivers, streams and environmental improvement activities that pose a risk of causing injuries and drowning of children in the community. "At the same time, if the local situation allows, it is necessary to organize Youth Union - Pioneer activities for children, to minimize the risks of injuries that often occur during the summer vacation" - Comrade Bui Dinh Long emphasized.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: Localities need to focus on raising awareness and responsibility for parents, caregivers, guardians, families and communities on knowledge and skills to protect children from natural disasters and epidemics; prevent and combat violence and child abuse; prevent and combat child marriage; and protect children in the digital age.
