Early morning on June 18th, Associate Professor Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh – Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, Director of the Nghe An Department of Health, provided the following information: DistrictDien ChauThere are 3 more cases testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
All three new COVID-19 cases are in Van Tap village, Minh Chau commune, district.Dien Chau, in the same village as the COVID-19 case announced by Nghe An province a few hours earlier. Thus, there are now 4 confirmed cases in Van Tap village, Minh Chau commune.

Given this complex situation, at 1:00 AM on June 18th, the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control and the Nghe An Department of Health held an emergency meeting with the Dien Chau District Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control to discuss solutions for containment and prevention of the outbreak; and to organize sample collection for testing for all residents of Dien Thinh and Minh Chau communes.
Thus, in this outbreak, as of the morning of June 18th, Nghe An province has 11 cases, including 7 in Dien Chau district and 4 in Vinh city.
