Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy inspects and encourages forces on duty to prevent and fight Covid-19 epidemic

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 20, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected and encouraged forces on duty to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic at a number of locations in Vinh City and Dien Chau District.

Accompanying him were comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control; Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial Police.

In Vinh City, the Provincial Party Secretary and his delegation inspected the quarantine work at Quyet Thanh Hotel, Nguyen Du Street, Ben Thuy Ward. This location has been operating since the evening of June 16 and is currently quarantining 77 people.

The Provincial Party Secretary discussed with the functional forces on duty here about some contents in the quarantine organization work, and listened to opinions and recommendations.

Currently, in Vinh city, in addition to Quyet Thanh hotel, a number of other accommodation facilities are also used for quarantine such as Vinh Plaza, Huu Nghi, Avatar hotels...

Next, the Provincial Party Secretary and the working delegation inspected the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work in Hong Son Ward. At the time of the delegation's inspection, the leaders and relevant departments of the ward were on duty at the agency to promptly lead, direct and deploy epidemic prevention and control measures. Implementing the community testing policy, on the evening of June 19, Hong Son Ward deployed it in 4 blocks, and on the evening of June 20, it will continue to conduct testing for people.

Vinh City began establishing a social isolation area from 0:00 on June 19, 2021 according to Directive No. 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister. Therefore, the city has set up 13 checkpoints surrounding the area to control people entering and leaving. All checkpoints are fully staffed by police, militia, youth union members, and medical staff.

On the afternoon of June 20, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy personally inspected the checkpoint on National Highway 46, Cau Ma area, Hung Chinh commune, bordering Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district. A small number of people who wanted to enter and exit the city but did not comply with the regulations were directly explained and guided back by the police force.

On the same afternoon, comrade Thai Thanh Quy also went to Dien Thinh commune, Dien Chau district to inspect the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic and visited and encouraged officers and soldiers working at a checkpoint in the area. This is one of a total of 50 checkpoints set up in 6 communes of Dien Chau district that are implementing Directive 16/CT-TTg.

Previously, on the evening of June 16, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province decided to socially distance the entire Dien Chau district according to Directive No. 15/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister from 0:00 on June 17, 2021; only Dien Thinh, Dien Cat, Dien Tan, Dien Trung, Dien Kim communes, Minh Chau commune (in addition to the locked-down village of Van Tap village) will implement social distancing according to Directive 16/CT-TTg.

Currently, 372 people are being quarantined at 9 centralized quarantine points managed by the district; 158 people are being quarantined at the health stations of 29 communes and towns. The entire district currently has 5,230 people being quarantined at home or place of residence, and 11,053 people are self-monitoring their health.

In communes where many leaders and key officials must be quarantined, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district has mobilized forces including officials and civil servants from the district's specialized departments to support in directing and operating the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.

At the inspection locations, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy acknowledged the timeliness, determination, and synchronization of localities in epidemiological investigation and isolation of high-risk people as soon as possible. He also emphasized that in the current situation, in order to effectively prevent and control the epidemic, it is necessary to promptly deploy leadership, direction, inspection, and supervision in localities; as well as know how to rely on the people, promote community strength; and propagate for people to comply with epidemic prevention and control measures.

In particular, facing the hardships and difficulties caused by hot weather and the nature of the work with many potential risks that the epidemic prevention and control forces are facing every day, the head of the Provincial Party Committee shared and encouraged the officers, soldiers, medical staff and related forces; hoping that they would continue to strive to complete their assigned tasks well, while focusing on propaganda and communication with the people so that they understand and comply with the regulations to quickly defeat the epidemic.
