Successfully relocated and detonated a 250kg bomb in Que Phong district.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of June 21, the Military Command of Que Phong district coordinated with the Engineering Department of Nghe An Provincial Military Command to successfully detonate a 250kg bomb.
Previously, at 12:30 p.m. on June 19, while fishing, Mr. Lo Van Ba, residing in Cao village, Quang Phong commune, Que Phong district, discovered a bomb left over from the war with an intact detonator under the Quang river.

After discovering the bomb, Mr. Lo Van Ba reported it to the local authorities and the Que Phong District Military Command. Upon receiving the information, the Que Phong District Military Command promptly sent a working group to the scene. After determining that the bomb was 60cm in diameter and 1.5m long, it was the largest bomb ever discovered in Que Phong District.

Immediately after identifying the local military force, they cordoned off the area, put up warning signs of the bomb area, and informed the people in the area about the situation. They mobilized the militia and self-defense force to coordinate with the commune police to guard 24/7.

Using professional measures, the Engineering Department of the Provincial Military Command neutralized the detonator and coordinated with the Military Command of Que Phong district and the Military Command of Quang Phong commune to transport the bomb to the detonation site at Tham Nam strait, Quyn village, Phong Quang commune, Que Phong district and successfully destroyed it, ensuring absolute safety.
