Vinamilk continues to be in the 'top' of the best listed companies in Vietnam

This shows Vinamilk's stable performance when this year's "Top 50" recorded 19 changes compared to 2020, even in the top positions, due to the Covid-19 pandemic causing disruptions in business operations of various industries.

Besides maintaining the domestic market, Vinamilk's international business activities recorded positive growth despite general difficulties due to Covid-19.

Thanks to its sustainable business operations and appropriate response strategies to the challenges caused by Covid-19, Vinamilk has maintained its presence in the top 10 companies of the “Top 50” in 2021, while leading the consumer goods industry in both revenue and profit. This is also the 9th consecutive time Vinamilk has been named in the annual list evaluated and ranked by Forbes Vietnam.

“After more than a year of struggling with the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the business results of many businesses on the list show the leadership ability of entrepreneurs, their ability to turn around, boldly invest to find opportunities, bring about positive business results and contribute to the development of the economy,”Forbes Vietnam representative commented on this year's list.

In addition to the management capacity and ability to respond to fluctuations caused by Covid-19, boldly seeking investment opportunities in challenging times is also a way for businesses to find "opportunities" in "danger". Over the past year, Vinamilk has continuously developed M&A projects, joint ventures, and new investments aimed at expanding and diversifying its fields of operation as well as continuing to promote business in foreign markets.

Vinamilk's farm complex in Laos has completed basic construction items of the first farm cluster, expected to be operational in early 2022.

With the results achieved, Vinamilk has jumped 6 places in the ranking of the world's top 50 dairy companies, reaching 36th place and is the only representative from Southeast Asia on this list.

In the domestic market, although consumer goods - food and beverages are considered basic, purchasing power is still affected by the pandemic and social distancing. In that context, Vinamilk still maintains its market share, leading the market in many key segments such as liquid milk, condensed milk, powdered milk for children, yogurt, etc.

Business flexibility, a strong foundation of production and supply capacity and finance are long-term advantages that help Vinamilk stabilize in the "turbulence" and be ready for development opportunities when the pandemic is controlled by the vaccine strategy to create community immunity.

At Vinamilk, sustainable development activities are considered one of the company's core strategies. Vinamilk is a pioneering Vietnamese company in linking strategic goals and activities with the United Nations' sustainable development goals (17 Sustainable Development Goals) and the dairy sustainable development framework (DSF).

For example, in terms of sustainable energy, from the end of 2020, Vinamilk invested in installing solar power systems at all farms nationwide. The total capacity of the project can reach more than 54 MWp, helping to regenerate nearly 70 million kWh of electricity per year.

The solar energy system is a prominent green footprint in the use of renewable energy in Vinamilk's production and business activities.

Also in the past year, Vinamilk has applied many sustainable initiatives with 93 solutions related to raw materials, production, emissions and livestock. Efforts in sustainable development orientation have helped Vinamilk be rated in the top 20 green stocks VNSI (continuously since 2017), with a total ESG score of 90%.

According to the results announced by the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), Vinamilk's 2020 assessment scores on all aspects of Environment, Society and Governance are higher than the industry average and the VN100 average.

In early 2021, Vinamilk introduced the Vinamilk Green Farm ecological farm system invested in construction in Tay Ninh, Quang Ngai and Thanh Hoa.

Vinamilk is the leading enterprise in the “Top 10 Sustainable Development Enterprises of Vietnam” in the manufacturing sector under the CSI 100 Program.
