At 7:15 a.m. on June 28, at the Examination Department, Nghe An General Hospital received patient LVG (male; occupation: Vinh wholesale market trader; address: Hamlet 7, Hung Chinh commune, Vinh city) for Covid-19 screening. After registering for the procedure, at 8:15 a.m., the patient had 2 rapid test results positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Immediately, Nghe An General Hospital isolated patient LVG and transported him to the Tropical Disease Center; performed real-time RT-PCR testing. At 5:00 p.m. the same day, the PCR test result confirmed that patient LVG was positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus.

On June 28, patient LVG went to Nghe An General Hospital to pay for his wife's discharge. At 7:00 a.m., the patient parked his car at the Patient's garage and made a medical declaration (In the declaration: no Covid-19 epidemiological factors); was instructed to go to the Examination Department to get tested again because the first test result on June 25 was more than 48 hours old according to epidemic prevention regulations). At 7:15 a.m., the patient went to the Examination Department, registered for procedures, entered one door, had a Covid-19 screening test, then went to the waiting area for results. In the waiting area, the patient sat separately, more than 2m away from other people waiting.

Immediately after patient LVG had two positive rapid test results for SARS-CoV-2 virus, Nghe An General Hospital announced and activated the anti-epidemic scenario at the Examination Department and throughout the hospital; reported to the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province; proactively implemented zoning according to the scenario, "no one in, no one out"; put the patient in a temporary isolation room at the Examination Department, put on personal protective equipment for the patient, took samples for real-time RT-PCR testing; dispatched a vehicle to receive and transfer the patient to the Center for Tropical Diseases; sprayed disinfectant in the sample collection area, the waiting room of the Examination Department and areas suspected of the patient passing through; conducted contact tracing and collected information about F1, F2 of medical staff, patients and relatives.
Nghe An General Hospital conducted rapid tests for all related cases. The results showed that 100% of the staff of the Examination Department, 100% of the staff of the Obstetrics Department, the Epidemiological Screening Team, security guards, parking attendants, and 100% of the Obstetrics Department patients were negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus. The hospital also proactively temporarily locked down the Obstetrics Department; continued to take samples for testing for all F1-F2 using realtime RT-PCR technology; investigated, traced, isolated, and waited for test results of related individuals; and handled waste according to regulations.
