Many people who donated blood for the first time said that they were initially worried, especially in the context of the complicated epidemic, but when they registered to donate blood and saw that the donation process was very safe, they forgot all their worries and instead felt joy and happiness because they could contribute to saving people. In the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the blood reserve of the Nghe An Provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center is seriously lacking because people in isolated and locked-down areas and people outside Vinh city cannot come to donate blood, and student volunteers are also on summer vacation... Dr. Nguyen Dinh Khue, Director of Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center, said that to ensure sufficient blood supply and blood products for patient treatment, the center must mobilize 130-180 units of blood per day. However, during the outbreak, the center could only mobilize 10-20 units of blood per day. Meanwhile, many patients in hospitals in the province need blood to sustain their lives. Therefore, donating blood at this time is extremely important in saving lives. Photo: TT |
